Before we know it, it will be here. Where are you spending this thanksgiving at-- your families, DH's family, both? J and I have to split our time and go to his family in afternoon and then have dinner in my brother's house at night time. I hate all the running around on holidays.

Re: Thanksgiving
Since DH's family is from OOT, we will be spending the holidays with my family. I would split it if they lived closer and if they celebrated anything.
Some of our family does Thanksgiving with one side and Christmas with the other and switches it each year. We don't really do much for Easter so it's never a huge deal.

Re: Thanksgiving
DH and I are attending snowcutie82's wedding the evening before. So we will be waking up as late as possible at Oheka and then heading to his mom or sisters for the day. There is the possibility of heading to the city in the evening to see my will be 9 months pregnant sister and her husband as well.

Re: Thanksgiving
DH and I have split the holidays between the families. My family gets Thanksgiving and his gets Christmas. it's so much easier than trying to do both sets in 1 day

Re: Thanksgiving
We are going to try and do both if his parents have it at their house. Both our parents live about 5 min from each other so we'll do both....

Normally that's what we did but now that we're married both sides want us to be there. My parents will be in town so I have to be with my family and it just looks bad if we dont go to his. Christmas is so much easier

Re: Thanksgiving
I Thanksgiving. Since both of our families are OOT we usually do our own Thanksgiving at home, dh's parents usually come from Florida and spend the weekend with us, my parents are too far away.

Re: Thanksgiving
We'll be at DH's dad & stepmom's house on Thanksgiving day, and we'll probably have my dad and brother over sometime that weekend. DH's mom lives in PA and invited us for thanksgiving day, but we're not up for the long drive and all the traffic that comes with traveling on a holiday. So we'll probably have to figure out a way to see her that weekend too. Definitely a lot of running around.

Re: Thanksgiving
This year my family (who lives in PA) has agreed to move thanksgiving..lol...so Thursday we are going to DH's house and then either that night or the next morning we are driving to PA to spend the weekend there. It works out nicely for us.

That is really sweet of them. You and your DH are really going to have the best of both worlds being that you get to spend the whole weekend with your family.

Since Thanksgiving is also our ANNIVERSARY, we'll be throwing a party at our house. All of the bridal party and their significant others will come for a big meal!

We go to my family on THanksgiving but we usually stop by DH's dads for a bit either before or after. IL's aren't big on holidays.

Re: Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is still up in the air this year. In the past we've always spent it with my family but now that we are married, I think my MIL wants us to go to her house.
Christmas Eve is ALWAYS and will ALWAYS be spent with my parents. I refuse to budge with that one. And since this is our first Christmas as a married couple, I wanted to cook a nice big meal for just him and I but I think I'm going to have to give in and go to his families house for Christmas Day dinner.

Ya I am excited. Thanksgiving is just a day anyway so it doesn't matter WHICH day...so no matter what it will be nice for my family to be together

Re: Thanksgiving
Dh has to work in the morning...probably until noonish. Then we'll have dinner at my parents' house.
His dad and stepmom do all the holidays too..but it's pretty obvious she doens't want us there..it's all about her family. whatever, my parents' house is more fun anyway.
