The rules of wedding planning...out the window!
When I was getting married, I tried really hard to follow different rules, I think this is why I am so offended as to what a co-worker of mine is doing. Am I wrong to be offended that I got an email at work telling me (and our whole entire department) where they are registred (she send this out in an email before her invites went out) The email said that even if you were not to be invited to the wedding a gift would still be accepted!!! I then recieved my invitation to the wedding in my work mailbox?! When I opened the invitation up I read on the bottom. Please take note as to who's name is on the invitation. We would love to have everyone there but we just can't afford it (I understand that part) so if your spouse's name is not on the envelope please do not bring them? That just seems weird to me. Is it just me?

Re: The rules of wedding planning...out the window!
What she did for the e-mail with the registry was tacky. Even to say 'even if you're not invited a gift is still appreciated?' Why doesn't she come out and say 'gimme gimme gimme'?As for the invitation in the mailbox, I'd let it slide. As for saying 'please note who's name is on the invitation...' - kinda tacky.
Oh well. At least you know you did it the right way =)

Re: The rules of wedding planning...out the window!
My DH personally handed our wedding invitations to his colleagues at work, but we have received wedding invitations in this way before, so I would not be bothered about that. However, I can't believe that a guest cannot bring a spouse! Why bother going. The request from gifts from those not invited - pretty tacky! How does everyone else at work feel about this?

Some people just make their own rules- don;t they? I would be incredibly offended and I would not go.

Good Idea All, I will drop off the no..althought here is no response card...how hsould I do that? SHoudl I just write it on the invite? A piece of loose leaf...what should I do....I want to be the better person, but I also selfishly want a little sting to the no.Welcome New Vendors
