Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
We don't plan on having any. I suppose I shouldn't say 'never' but, I'd say it's pretty for sure.

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
I'm still waiting. I think I'm more ready than I've ever been, and Al is too, but we're still not ready yet.People are placing bets that I'll be pregnant within 6 months of moving back to NY, but thats not the plan (one friend also bet I'd be pregnant by our first anniversary, and he lost. I suggested those betting against him to go double or nothing for my second anniversary
)I think we've got at least a year, probably longer. We need to settle into NY, hopefully buy a house, etc.

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
i wasn't ready.
i was supposed to start the pill again this past July...I wanted to wait...maybe forever. I wasn't sure at all, and really felt happy with the direction our lives could take without being weighed down. So much I wanted to do. But I am ready now.

I know Stef ... I felt the same way ... who is left from our 'class'.I am not fully ready yet ... even though I'm starting to get the itch ... I'm thinking by the end of next year, we'll be either trying or preggo.

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
Definitely ready (have been for a long time) and so is Gary but our living and financial situation is winning out. There are days that I say, we can do it, I'll deal with it because those things shouldn't be why we wait (a cousin said to me NEVER wait to afford children because you just never will afford them) and then there are days I say we can barely afford ourselves! I really want to at least start trying by the end of the year....but we will see....hmpf

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
We are holding off for 3 years. DH just started full time law school today, so I'm the only working for a while. We both would have liked to start trying after a about year and a half, but it won't be financially possibe. This just gives us more time to enjoy our 'us' time.

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
another not to be here. prob have one eventually, but right now we are too immature and have a lot we want to get done first. we like to do a lot of international travel and you can't do that with a child. plus our financial situation at this time (DH is finishing school) is not what i would like it to be in order to feel good about bringing a dependent into this world. i figure maybe in 2 years (I will be 30) this might be more feasable. but who knows.

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
That's my point!! I don't think some people (ME!) are ever COMPLETELY ready, but we jump in with both feet!!!
I get nervous, excited, frightened, anxious, etc. when I think about the little person who's on his (her?
) way, but it's all good.

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
DH is ready to have a kid now but I'm way too young/immature. I want to wait 4 years, he wants to wait 1. So maybe at the 3 year mark

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
sassyz...I laughed when I read about your alien head baby....I took it for just 2 months and the pictures they show you are enough to scare the bejeezus out of anyone...lolwe planned on 4-5 years...and when we expect our first born to come is 3-4 years (from wedding)..so we only upped it a bit...
I do have to say that jobs are playing a big role in it for us...

Re: To be or not to be: Having children recount.
I think
too Jenn!!! A lil' pretty Jenn running around!!!
Shamma ... I want to finish school first and I won't be done until May. Also, Rob starts next week and won't be done until May 2005. Plus, we just got the house and are still working on it ... I'd like to regain some of our savings back.
So starting end of next year would be more ideal. Welcome New Vendors
