I grew up in Toronto

Our wedding was actually in Manhattan, but we looked at venues in LI too.

DH grew up in Hewlett and his parents still live there. Him and I have lived together in Manhattan, Brooklyn and now Queens (Forest Hills). When we buy a house (hopefully next year or year and a half) we're going to look near where he grew up.

ETA: we got married in NY instead of Toronto because I felt it would be too difficult to plan a wedding long distance, but in the end because over half our guests were out of towners we decided Manhattan was the best bet to accommodate everyone and keep them busy!

Grew up in Queens, now living in LI.
Wedding in LI because DH grew up and lives in Nassau.- plus didn't like any of the churches or RHs I saw in Queens (except for Doug Manor).

I grew up in Kings Park, DH in Westchester...

We live in Queens now because it's easier for us to each get to our jobs (he takes the subway to the city, I drive to Bethpage).

We chose NRC since it was a semi midpoint between my family who lives further out on the island and his family coming over the whitestone bridge.

Where is your DH from in westchest? Mine is from Yonkers but he is the youngest of 5 kids and they're all over the county now!

DH is from Hastings on Hudson (and he lived in Dobbs Ferry for a short time too)... MIL lives in Pleasantville and FIL and StepMIL live in Somers.

We've actually talked a bunch about moving to White Plains (depending on my job situation), since it would be a little more suburban than Queens but still accessible to the city. I always enjoy when we go there! (My mom still lives in KP but dad and other extended family live in FL, so I'm not as connected to LI as I once was).

My husband lived in White Plains when we first started dating and we had a blast there! I love WP and would totally move back.

We looked at a house in Somers but its a bit too far north for us. BIL and SIL live there - very pretty!

My parents are still on LI but they're talking about selling my childhood house to downgrade in the next year or so...I want to be near them so if we move to Westchester it would have to be WP or South...
