TV in the bedroom?

TV in the bedroom?

So, DH and I just completely renovated our bedroom. We painted, cleaned the rugs, bought new furniture, comforter set, etc. Well, the TV we had in there was old so we threw it out. Now Im kind of liking the room with no TV in it. We are going to discuss it tonight and see if we really should get one or not. Do all of you have TVs in the bedroom?

Yes. We have 4 TVs in the house, but 3 only hooked up to cable. These are all HDTVs. The other is a tube that I had in my apartment 6 years ago. It's in the guest room so I can workout.

Oh yeah we have one!
In our old apartment we only had one, when we moved we put his in the living room and mine in the bedroom. Best thing we ever did!

we have one. when we renovate our bedroom, i really don't want to have one, but DH is insistant, and i will say it is nice to fall asleep in my bed watching TV, rather than on the couch.

Yes, DH and I both like falling alseep with it on.

However we have 3 tvs in our apt it's crazy- 1 in living room, 1 in bedroom and 1 in the kitchen (I feel no need to have 1 in the kitchen)

Nope! No tv's in the bedroom! It should be a sanctuary! The only electronic device in there is the alarm clock.

Yes, we do. It's nice when one of us doesn't feel well and wants to lay down, or like last night when I wanted to watch the Oscars, he didn't have to. It helps me fall asleep sometimes too, if he's reading and I don't feel like reading.

same here works out great sometimes. MOST of the time we do watch tv in the livingroom. Sometimes though it works out great bc if one of us doesnt want to watch what the other is watching we dont have to fight over the tv, doesnt happen often since we usually watch all the same things but still. Or there are times maybe one of us wants to lay down in bed and watch tv. Sometimes DH has stuff to do on the comp and its in the BR so he'll do stuff while i watch tv and we're still hanging out or vice versa.

I agree. In our case we both like to play video games. I have my xbox in the bedroom and his ps3 in the living room. However, I wanted to watch tv last night in bed and he complained about it being too 'Bright' WAHHHHH lol That is the only downside...having a baby for a husband lol

I like having a tv in the bedroom though.

Yes, we did get one BC we could hide it in our armoire.

An alarm clock does not make it a sanctuary!

We usually watch TV in the living room too. He's been sick the past week or so and stayed home a couple of days. He was trying to rest a lot, and the bed is just more comfortable than the couch.

personally i do not think a tv belongs in the bedroom - i like the way a room looks without one.....with that said - we have a big *** tv in our room we got it b/c it was on sale after the holidays - i think its a 36 inch - but when we buy our bedroom furniture for the house the tv is going in an armoire - that was the compromise between DH and I

Yes. We don't use it alot. Only if we want to watch different things on TV.

Sometimes he reads long before we go to sleep, and if I'm not tired yet the TV will help me fall asleep. But, if he's already sleeping I rarely put it on...then I'll stay in the living room.
