what questions offend you?

what questions offend you?

i feel like as women, we are REALLY sensitive about different types of aspects in our lives... so that leads me to this question:

what question do you find offensive coming from a stranger/someone you dont know well?

for example, i know A LOT of women get offended if you ask them their age

discuss!

I am a plus size gal. So when strangers inquire as to when my due date is....I get offended. Not as much as I used to....but still.

I think it's rude when people ask how much your salary is. I think one of the worst questions to ask a woman is if she is pregnant or when people ask when you're going to have children. How does someone know you are even able to?

I just don't think it's something to discuss with people...not their business. Some people think nothing of coming right out and asking you directly.

I have been asked by several strangers before why DH and I got married so young. They look at us and are like 'Oh really this is your wife, you guys look so young! Why did you get married now?'

It's like excuse me first off I am probably not as young as you think I am since I def look like I am 17. And plus is it any of your business that I am married? NOOOO. You don't know me so I am not telling you our reasons. I just say because I love him

I don't get offended too easily. I can't think of any off the top of my head. Let me see what you girls say and see if anything rings a bell.

me neither!!

i guess the one thing that bugs me (not so much OFFENDS me) is when ppl make comments about how skinny i am

like 'oh you could afford to gain a few pounds' or 'omg are you that person that can eat ANYTHING and not gain weight? omg i hate you' or 'so wow, do you eat?!'

I agree, it's not so much that it offends me as much as it irks me.

I get this all the time too! People just don't get it. I look really young too. People think I'm 18. When DH and I were first engaged a few years ago, his family (extended) thought I was pregnant. Everyone was asking 'Why all of a sudden, whats the rush, you guys are to young' No rush and we aren't to young, we just wanted to get married. I hate that. Even when I introduce DH to people, they look at me like we are crazy. I've gotten 'Oh my god, how old are you guys' about 40 times since our wedding. People just need learn to mind their own business. Honestly, if it was someone I knew and they asked me, I really wouldn't care as much, but people who don't know me should really shut up. I guess they just don't think of it as offending.

This has happened to me and my response is 'No baby, just fat' and I LOVE seeing the color drain from their face and then get immediately replaced by 10 shades of red'

I do get offended when my friend asks how much I spent on this or that, she never realizes how rude she comes off. Or she'll ask me if I know how much so, & so spent on something and I tell her 'I never thought it was my place to ask such a question'

I think that's the thing...people don't see it as they are offending us when asking that. But I HATE IT. Seriously we are happy and loved each other and wanted this...yes I mean we are young but we aren't 17 yrs old. Some people have asked as well if we got married at 23 because we have kids or if i was pregnant... Now that is just rude. If I don't know you how dare you ask me that question

Re: what questions offend you?

Not much offends me......but i would get kind of annoyed when people wanted to know what my wedding cost...especially people on LIW who don't even know me send me an FM...i always want to respond with how much do you make for a living? I'll let ya know if you can afford it or not...haha.

But I never understand why women care about people knowing their age or weight...will i look any fatter to you if you know what i weigh?? I tell people all the time...usually they respond with...wow...you don't look like you weigh that much...which makes me laugh.
