Who were your top vendors & why?

Who were your top vendors & why?

Just curious to see who were people's favorite vendors. I have to say, I was thrilled with most of mine but my favorites were:

Laura from LA Productions (DOC) - she was amazing. Not only did she do an amazing job as my day of coordinator but she has the best personality and added so much to our special day.

B rett M atthews (photography) - We looooove our proofs, and the day of, the photography team was so unassuming, professional, and gracious. Our proofs are artistic, creative, and beautiful.

Get in Tune (DJ) - I have NEVER seen a dance floor so packed. Ours was packed the entire night and people are still raving about how much fun they had. Get in Tune was great to work with and did a phenomenal job keeping the party going all night.

Keri Berman (make up) - I had been FREAKING out about make up and went for a zillion trials (the results of all of which made me cry). Keri did me, my mother, and sister. She did different work on all of us but we were all incredibly happy with the make up and it stayed all night! I felt so comfortable and got so many compliments. My sister's friend is a model and she said that our 3 make up jobs were the nicest she had ever seen.

Limo - Joe Pal Limo -- They were perfect. On time, affordable, nice to work with beforehand and during the day. We were supposed to have a regular limo to take six of us back to my parents' house for the after-party, but they sent an Excursion instead. I was so happy to have the extra room.

DJ -- High Voltage -- Vinnie followed the instructions we provided and read the crowd really well. He was the most low-maintenance vendor I used -- no stress or worries at any time throughout the planning process.

ETA:
Dance Lessons -- Bovard Dance -- Eleicia was a pleasure to work with. Private lessons at convenient times and affordable prices.

Gown -- Birnbaum and Bullock -- It was so nice working with them and avoiding the typical bridal salon experience. My dress was beautiful and the quality was top-notch.

Duet - I love my pictures even more then I expected to! they did such a great job. Plus they have been amazing to work with even after the wedding and they had all my money!!

Laurie from LA Blossom: aside from saving my arse 3 weeks before the wedding when I needed a florist, her work was perfection!

People who brought home the centerpieces said they were still alive for 2 more weeks after the wedding.

And, she added in special touches that I had mentioned before the wedding. I told her that I love pansies, but that another florist said they couldn't be used as wedding flowers.

She put them on my cake and dais piece and I was SO HAPPY when I walked into my reception and saw them.

She's just a really great person!!!

I can't choose one. All of my vendors went above and beyond for us. If I had to pick one who we have remained in touch with, it would be North Island Photography. Our relationship with them didn't end with the pictures. I consider Debbie like a friend.

North Ritz Club...they went above and beyond in every area and made my wedding day PERFECT!

Here Comes the Bridesmaid, Great Neck - BM dresses. The staff there was so professional, we got designer dresses for $130....the only thing they don't do is alterations which was fine by me....each of my girls were responsible for doing their own.

Bonaventure Bridal, Garden City - my dress. The staff was so nice and really went above and beyond. And my dress came out perfect too! They also did the guys tuxes and everyone had no issues the day of.

I would have to choose our DJ-Long Island Sound, Makeup by Merle Norman (Amy). They were all a pleasure to deal with and I would HIGHLY recommend them.

The best vendors for me were:

Oksana: made us all look gorgeous and she was calm and sweet and wonderful!

Ultimate Class Limo: Just amazing service from start to finish. Beautiful, clean cars and great drivers who helped me get in and out and treated us like king and queen for a day!

The Watermill: Perfection!

Really all my vendors were phenominal, but I have to say that Laurie from LABlossom was my absolute favorite

I wasn't even excited about flowers until i met her. She took my confused ideas about wanting a PURPLE wedding bo-k and turned it into reality, and I adore her for that!

I STILL (nearly 1 year later) get RAVES about my bo-ks, church flowers and CPs (pics are below)

Not to mention she is just the nicest, most professional and coolest person EVER!

Re: Who were your top vendors & why?

I loved the way everything turned out with my wedding and I couldn't be happier! But there were a few vendors that definately went above and beyond:

Ken James Orchestra - our band was fabulous!! From the moment I met Bruce I knew he was the one (even though we had already booked another band). Bruce and the rest of Ken James are the most professional and pleasant people to work with. They had the dance floor packed all night. I can't even tell you how many compliments we received and how great they were. At the end of the night they went up to my parent's and thanked them for having them at our wedding. When we returned from our honeymoon they had sent us a card thanking us for letting them share in our special day. For our 1 year anniversary they sent us a card. We were so thrilled with them that we recommended them to a friend. After their meeting, they loved them too, Bruce called us to thank us for the high praises. I love love love them!

Flowers by Brian - I knew what I wanted for centerpieces and they were able to duplicate my visions exactly. I wasn't too sure about what I wanted for personal flowers, but they were so helpful. They took my ideas and helped me pick exactly what I was thinking. The quality of the flowers I received was amazing. I was so excited to see my flowers that I almost cried when I saw my bouquet. They did a wonderful job and it looks awesome in my pics. Everyone was amazed at how large and lush it was, you wouldn't believe how heavy it was, lol!

Leonards - All I can say is they treated us like family. I never felt like just another bride. They were very personable and an absolute pleasure to work with. To think we weren't even going to check them out. I couldn't have been happier and was so pleased with all the little extras they did without asking.

That's my #1 and I have to say I was surprised. Towards the end with the management changes and I had it in my head it was a wedding factory I was really worried I made the wrong choice - but they were by far WONDERFUL to me & my guests. The food was excellent, the staff was wonderful, the decor phenominal and the ambiance simply romantic!

Also my DJ, Twice as Good. I wanted a P-A-R-T-Y and I got it and more - there was no need for group dances or slow songs anywhere - they played everything from disco, to regaee, to rap to techno, to freestyle to big band and everyone was on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG. It was awesome to watch the video and see everyone just going NUTS all night long.

#1 vendors:
Crest Hollow CC- I was a lil worried, but they were phenominal, food, service, ambience, keeping us calm, getting things done, just everything was FANTASTIC!

Oksana & Jenn The Hair Genie- WOW, those 2 are just great, did a great job, and knew how to keep me calm away from tears, and laughing away....just an overall beyond pleasant experience.

Tony Ferrari Photographers and Videographers-
was worried about them too, but they did great! Kept me calm when I flipped on my drunk groomsmen, didn't annoy me thru the day, but was just great! and I'm really happy with my proofs

So those are my top 3

Laura LA Productions, couldn't have done it without her!!! I love her!!

Here she is prepping me before I walked down the aisle:

Jacqueline Nicole, makeup, I love, loved my make-up.

Tarale, hair, I loved my hair. Once I found the style I wanted she did even better than I expected.

Mya from Cosmetic Artistry. She did my hair and makeup and was very fun to work with. (hair pic attached). She was also very patient with my mom, who wanted her hair and makeup done in a very specific way.

Skyline (band) - they ROCKED the house. All of our guests are still raving about them. All of their singers were phenomenal and our guests have been naming different favorite singers, which tells me they thought they were all good. They sounded very similar to the originial musicians when performing our Father/Daughter dance and other songs.

Deidre Muro (ceremony singer). She is an NYU student and a very lucky find. Beautiful, melodic voice and lots of guests complimented us on her.

Moments of Color - they did our invites and ceremony program covers and are based in Australia. I love these Aussies!
