Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We were looking for anything in August, and whatever date they had available.
They had Aug. 18th which is our dating anniversary, however it was a Sat. night, and was NOT going to pay too much $$ and went with a Friday night the 17th.
So our wedding anniverasry is Aug. 17th, and our dating anniverasry is Aug. 18th

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We had wanted to get married when it was still warm out and had our hearts set on PJCC. So, when we went to meet with them we told them anything from June-September. September 27th was the only day they had open so we took it.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We needed a time of year where our jobs weren't busy (I'm in heating and he's in retail, so now winter or fall) and summer was too hot. We decided on Spring before his softball season. Then we aimed for March 7th which was my grandparents anniversary and they were married over 50 years before gramps passed away. Then we found out it was slightly less expensive on the Say than on the Sunday, so we ended up with March 6th, sentimental enough from grams that we thought of them and still our own day. Turns out it's exactly 5 months to the day of my father & step-mothers' anniversary in August....and I didn't even know it!

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We both wanted the summer and we were also the last of 7 sets of friends to get engaged in one year.

We chose August because it was literally in the middle of everyone's wedding - we were the halfway point! It gave us (and everyone else) enough time from the July 4th wedding to recoup, and us enough time to get back from our honeymoon and settle in before the October weddings.

Our wedding date, 12/7/03, was exactly one year after we got engaged. We both like the wintertime...

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

Because we were living in separate countries, we wanted to do it quickly. We got engaged at my brother's wedding in September and got married 5 months and one day later. Because we had so many people coming from abroad, we wanted to have it at the cheapest travel time possible. Plus, both his parents are teachers and this was the only weekend their holiday overlapped.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We had decided to chose either our dating anniversary, which is June 18th, or when we 'fell in love' which was a trip to England we went on January 9th, 1999... Since I and 8 of his cousins graduated this past semester, we decided to have it in January instead of fighting with Graduationparties & such.

Plus is was waaaaaaaaaayyyyy more affordable to get all the little things we wanted b/c it was right after the Christmas sales.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We picked 9/21 because my grandfather on my mother's side would have been celebrating his 100th birthday on 9/25. He lived in south jersey but the rest of the family lives out of state. I would have felt bad asking them to come up for the wedding in the summer and then again in Sept. for his birthday.

Being selfish and wanting everyone to come to the wedding, we choose to coordinate the dates so no one would really have to choose which event or overextend themselves financially. Unfortunately, he passed away about 7 months before the wedding.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We picked April 28 for the following reasons:

I liked 3 options for a wedding - Spring, Autumn or Christmas.

We were engaged in April and my SIL was due with #1 in September so rushing to try to do anything that Autumn was out, and I didn't want to wait 18 months (hey - I'd already waited 9 years!) Christmas was nixed as too hard for people to travel - family and friends were scattered all in several states and having as many present as possible was key. So Spring it was - about a year from our engagement date.

We were looking at dates in late April or early May, I think Easter was mid April that year, and we wanted it to be somewhat warm, sunny etc. April 28 was available at our reception site and we took it - later I told DH that since it was 2 days before my birthday it would be easy for him to remember both and I'd let him get away with one gift if it was a REALLY GOOD one

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

In january we have 7 birthdays, to many things to celebrate so that was out.

Feb we have two birthdays plus valentines, so that was out.

Originally we were going to get married here in Florida so we immediatly dismissed March and April because of the tourist season

May ( we picked because neither of us had any birthdays or anniversary's in this month, plus we started dating in this month. We got married ten days ebfore our 7 year anniversary)

June was out because my sister had gotten married in June the previous year. PLus my godmother, whom I despise, was married in this month.

July is TOO HOT for us!

August Too hot , plus two birthdays and two ann.

Sept we did not want to mess with the start of school and such.

Oct This was first runner

Nov my cousin had gotten married a year and half before us in novemeber, plus thanksgiving.

December- we did not want to mess with christmas and all of that.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We wanted a 1 1/2 year (18 month) engagement which is reasonable to plan and to enjoy our engagement as well. Thus, 1 1/2 years from February 2001 which was a our engagement is August 2002. We thought 1 year is short and 2 years engagement is too long, thus 1 1/2 years is just right. Plus, I want a mid-summer wedding as I prefer the warmer months. We also hoped that a lot of people will attend since it was in the summer months when school is not in session and our extended families are able to travel with their children.

In addition, the original date we had in mind August 17, 2002 was unavailable at our reception venue which we had to change and push it a week later. We cannot push it a week earlier because one of our GM (who later was promoted to be our BM as our original BM backed-out his position due for personal reasons) was going to celebrate his first year wedding anniversary. That's how we came about to choose our special day of August 24, 2002.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We wanted Sept or Oct. When we looked at Land's End, all Saturdays and Fridays were gone. But there were a few Sundays left. One of them was the weekend after Labor Day. I had a house in FI for 3 summers and always remembered the weather being so beautiful that weekend, so I pushed for the 7th. (I know it was a shot in the dark, but I had it in my head that that was the weekend!) Plus we figured more sunlight time. The day turned out to be beautiful!!

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We got engaged on August 8th and then we found out that DH's assignment to Ireland had been confirmed and we would be leaving for Ireland the 1st week in November. We didn't want to wait 18 months for our return to the States to get married so we decided to get married before we left. We already had a 10 day vacation to Grenada planned for October 14 so we called a bunch of halls. CLM had Saturday 10/11 available so we booked it and planned our wedding in 8 weeks . Talk about stress . Grenada turned into an impromptu honeymoon and now we are in Ireland. So no sentimental reasons here it was all about convienence.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We picked out cause it was the cheapest date we could get!! LOL!!! It turnes out though, that it was the date of my Aunts wedding, and my mother met my father at their wedding. They also won the anniversary dance at our wedding! So, I think my Father picked it from heaven! (Corny, but I really feel that way!)

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We wanted a vacation weekend. So that we'd have a few days off to spend w/ the family. We didn't have a honeymoon) And the flights were still cheap enough that our family from Ireland can get here w/ out paying to much.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We met on Nov 3, 1995 and got engaged Dec of 96. We originally wanted September 97 but it was totally booked at the church. So was October. November was almost booked up too. The only Saturday afternoons left were Nov 8 or Nov 15. We picked the 8th because it was a week earlier! So we got married 2 years and 5 days after we first met.

Re: why did you pick your wedding date?

We picked April because after getting engaged we wanted to get married sooner rather than later (we had an 8 month engagement). We figured we had better chances for warm weather in April too. Plus we met in April 2001.
