Would you be pissed if your friend got engaged and didnt tell you? w/ update

My bm got engaged to DH's gm and no call or anything. They got engaged in venezuela on NYE and got back yesterday. She had time to post her status change on fb and tell one of my other friends on fb that she met once at my wedding but didnt tell me. I am actually a little hurt. I texted her and left her a voicemail but thats all I am doing. If she doesnt respond then oh wells.

What do you think?

Of course, if you are close enough to this person that you made her a BM! I would be p!ssed for sure.

I made sure to tell as many close friends as possible before making posts on Facebook - I waited until I had spoken to each person I felt was a close friend.

That is a little strange. I would say that she was probably just tired and didn't call except you said she called that new friend. . (unless the new friend happened to call her so she just told her) I would wait and see how she responds to your text. .

Well she didnt call the new friend she left her a message on her wall. but still I dont get it

i just recently found out one of my best friends got engaged and the only reason I found out is cause DH saw it posted on FB.

I don't think it's strange. It's possible that she since she knows that telling you will be a lengthy conversation- with details ect, she might want to wait to be settled after the trip to speak with you or see you in person.

I did that with my close friends since I got engaged on a trip.

I don't think I would be pissed but I'm a little funny like that. I get completely wrapped up in my own world most of the time so I'd understand if someone else did too.

I would probably be hurt... but maybe give her the benefit of the doubt and wait and see what she says if and when she calls you back...

I would be upset. I called my best friends when I got engaged and just texted everyone else... she could have at least sent you a text that takes 5 seconds.

I kind of did the same thing to my BM. When Pat and I got engaged, we were away. So I sent a text like a few days after and I called her when we came home.

You friend may be busy and just so into the moment right now that she is not thinking straight. I was kind of the same way.

I HIGHLY doubt this girl was like 'yay I'm engaged! Now I'm going to make it a point to NOT tell Cindy personally'. I highly doubt it was malicious and I kind of feel you are just being sensitive. she probably wasn't thinking about calling everyone like that.

You are so right about the FB thing. I post everything on there. I feel like that's how I update the world.

Well it would be different if we were casual friends but she was my BM and I was the one who introduced my friend now her fiance to her. I called all my friends when I got engaged. If we were casual friends then I understand but not a close friend. I could never do that to her or any of my friends. Its strange thats all.
