Re: Wish me luck- feeling sick because in about two hours...

I don't have experience with telling a boss b/c I am currently our of work, but I wanted to send you some good luck vibes!! I know you are nervous but you will feel so much better once you get it over with. Just think there is nothing you can do, it is out of your control. This is a medical issue, she can't hold it against you. Don't feel upset/bad about it there is nothing you can do. You need to do what is best for you and baby. That is all that matters. You can do this! You will get through this. Hopefully your boss will be more understanding than your anticipating, and if not screw them. That is why there are laws to protect pregnant woman. Hang in there sweetie!!!! Send you good luck vibes!!! You are stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Thanks so much hun...

what scares me though...we are non union. We signed a contract this year stating that they can basically get rid of us at any time for any reason (I didn't expect to get pregnant- so i signed thinking I was free and clear)

May is the next contract signing and I am so afraid that she is going to ask for me to not come backnext year...

DH is currently being held without pay because the shop he is in is laying the workers off...so this just couldnt come at a worse time...

NOT that a baby isn't amazing and wonderful but I sometimes find myself questioning 'why now'

which then makes me

Re: Wish me luck- feeling sick because in about two hours...

Thanks girls- its really hard for me...

If it wasnt a private school, I wouldnt have a problem. But everyone here tries to stay till their water breaks

I was thinking of just walking in and saying

'I will be taking my maternity leave before school ends so I won't end up in the pre-term labor stage. How do I go about it?' and just let her do the rest of the talking...

Think thats a good idea?

Sorry girls i get like, insanely confused with these things...

Honestly, I would just be completely blunt and say that your health and your baby's health are more important than anything they can say or think about you...private school or not, and I'm no lawyer, but I'm still pretty sure you would have some form of legal recourse if they were to make it difficult for you.

Of course, I would probably say eff you and walk out, but that's just me. I'll send you some of my 'don't take any shiz from no one' vibes.

Woo hoo can u send me some 'b*tch slap' vibes too? I need some

If i hadnt signed the contract I wouldnt be worried but the contract states that they do not have to re-hire me if I 'have not met' any of the requirements' of the year boo to them

I don't know all of the ins and outs of the Family Medical Leave Act, but maybe you qualify for a disability leave under that.
