Ok, call me sentimental, but does anyone have a song that was considered 'your song'? Whether it was fast or slow. Is there a song that brings back memories of when you were dating, or a specific happy time (besides the wedding? Some friends and I were having the old flashback conversation about songs, so I thought it may be a fun thread...Sorry if I'm getting carried away. I never see what you guys used as wedding songs (unless I did not look hard enough). REMEMBER, ONLY HAPPY TIMES!!!!

we didn't have 'our song' while dating, but the first time we ever danced together it was to 'Summer Wind', and 'The Way You Look Tonight' was always special. We're big Sinatra fans.

Our first dance at our wedding was 'By Your Side', by Sade.

We didn't have a dating song, but our wedding song was 'Beautiful' by Gordon Lightfoot. It's not something that you hear on the radio anymore, but everytime we play the CD I get weepy.

We didn't really have a special song from when we were dating, but our wedding song was 'To Make You Feel My Love' By Garth Brooks.

Actually we did two songs. You're the Inspiration we danced to alone and then the bridal party and family joined in to 'If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful'

we dont have a song either, but before we got married, we went to our friend's wedding, and danced to 'Can't Help Falling in Love' by Elvis, and at the same time we said that we LOVED this song. From that night we decided that would be our wedding song

We originally were going to use ' I am inthe mood for love'a s the first dance song, because it was the title of the first movie we saw together. BUT.... DH loves Leonard Cohen, so he let me listen to his song 'till the end of love' and strongly segusted we use it fot the first dance! I absolutelly loved that song! We did use it for our first dance and had it choreographed! It was so MUCH fun! it was one of my favourite things about weddign preparations! So romantic!

Our dating song....later on in the relationship-True companion-we also used it on our video.

our song while dating is a classical song. Flower Duet from the opera Lakmé by Delibes. It's been used in British Airways commericals (though it was our song before we ever heard it in their commercial)

our wedding song: you are so beautiful by joe cocker. we had a few we loved, but we wanted something simple, but made a great statement.

Our dating song was (and I'm not kidding) Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw by Jimmy Buffet. We met in a bar, and always laughed about the appropriatness of it.

Needless to say, that was NOT our wedding song (my mom would have dropped dead from the shock of it LOL). Instead we used Never Thought by Dan Hill.

We were by the pool (on a cruise) and they were playing this song, and we were with this older couple (in their 70's) that we met and ADORED, so we were having food by the grill with them and the wife (Mildred) was like 'THIS IS TERRIBLE, EXCUSE ME CAN YOU TURN THIS CRAP OFF ??' (asking the poor waiters who barely spoke English ) and her adorable husband (Lenny) goes 'oh yeah, you listening to the words in this song! '
Mildred: 'YEAH LISTEN TO IT. LETS SCREW! What is this Jimmy Buffet CRAP!...EXCUSE ME, can you please turn this OFF or turn it down so I dont have to listen to it!??? '

Her sense of humor (and 'shyness' ) is out of this world, and hysterical.

Meanwhile it was a 'tribute' to Jimmy Buffet that night, and there was NO WAY it was being turned off. JOhn and I never laughed so hard as we did on our honeymoon with these two.

Our 'songs' are The Way You Look Tonight by Sinatra and It's Your Love by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill. They were also our first and second dance songs.
