I saw this somewhere and I think its a great idea, I am getting for all my girls a bag with there name on it and fill it with lotions, soaps, slippers, maybe a nightgown, photo album, etc...things like that. for my maid and matron the same thing and then probably something special as well. I am also getting all my girls jewelry to wear the day of the wedding. a necklace and earings.

for the guys I have no idea. FI wants to get his best man a goblet with his initials on it, and for the guys most likely beer mugs or something.

Everything else we're just taking one day at a time and not hurrying. We have some time.

I have the church and hall and after the new year FI and I will start putting down deposits with our vendors. We have a list of vendors we want to look at and talk too.

I know which dress I want and I'm going to go try that on in January and get the ball rolling on the dress.

The month of December we're just spending time with our friends and family and we'll start everything after the new year

We're only engaged 3 months

I am sorry if I am making anyone feel like they are behind but that is just the way I am. I like to have everything done early. ChippaTriD, I know that you have your hall already and you would of had your DJ but someone else booked them. Sorry.

I am before bikerchik by 20 something days. I am 3/5. BUT there is someone before me. I think around New Years.

I send the hall its first official payment in January. It feels so official

I know which invitations we want. I've known even before we got engaged. I cant wait to order those

I would have had my DJ but yup someone else booked him I guess I'll just have to go to that wedding, and lure him away with my magic powers and my mom and put him in my wedding JUST KIDDING! The DJ has friends who are just like him so I may just use one of them.

Chippatrid your gift sounds like a great idea for the BMs. I can't say anything on the MOH gift since she is reading the board. Sorry Viv its a secret!

You will not have far to go to take him away from the wedding that he is already booked at.

Everyone probably wants to know what Chippa and I are talking about. Well, we both are having our reception at the Manor East on Sept. 18th and the DJ that she wanted to us (which is her mom's friend) is already booked because I booked him. Talk about a small world.

CW: There is a place around here I can have the bags made (an embroider of some sort). Its on Myrtle ave, right off woodhaven Blvd in Queeens. For filling it, I know my Maid of Honor Cheryl loves body works products so I am going to get some of her favorite stuff from there to fill her bag with, my Matron Grace she lives in Florida so I'll get her sun lotions and blocks, after sun lotion, some soaps (her husban is FI's best man so I am going to ask him what is her favorite sent is)

The place that I get my nails done sells this bath salt type soap that am also going going to put in all there bags,

all the BM's I'll get lotions and bath stuff fom bed bath and beyond as well as body works.

The slippers I've seen all over. Its those cushiony slippers called Marshmellow's or something. They look like terry cloth slippers. They are really comfortable.

Lisa, I'm the same way, I had the church, hall, video,band and photographer all booked before I even got my ring. We were official in October and everything is done. I was really ahead of schedule.

Not much here to check in either, we are so happy that we got so much done in the past few months! It is nice to just sit back and relax until next spring. We have left to order the BM dresses, tuxes, pick out flowers, my shoes and a veil, and order the invitations, but all of the big vendors are done. People thought I was crazy that I did it all so early, but it is a relief, that is for sure.

I don't know what I'm getting my bridesmaids and MOH yet. I think I may get jewelery. My Dad is a jeweler so I may ask him to make them something. For the guys, my brilliant FH did say that he would like to get all of them Tag watches (mind you there are 6 guys in total), so I told him he was nuts!!! If we had the money, no problem, but that's at least $6,000. I swear, I'm being the reasonable one here. If it was up to him, we'd be spending 100k on the wedding. Like his mom says to him all the time, he has champagne taste but beer pockets!!

There is shirts by us, I am not sure if they do the bags but they do embroidery on jackets, shirts and jerseys.

There is another store called Needlehead. I think thats the name of it. Its on a corner, almost on a side street. I'm going to pass it tomorrow on my way to do errands and I'll get the exact name and address for you and forum mail it to you.
