Those ideas for BM gifts are good, I was thinking of jewelry too but that's not a bad idea. What are you girls doing for bridesmaid dresses? I'm thinking of letting everyone choose their own, all in black (but it is a Sunday afternoon so I'm not sure). What do you guys think?

Re: 04 Brides

Go Junebride! Page 12!! YEAH!

Jess: We haven't started looking at bridesmaids dresses yet. I would like a light blue color or a deep red. Not sure yet. Whatever looks good on the girls. I personally want them all to have the same dress. But that's me. But I don't think there's anything wrong with having your bridal party in different dresses and I love black. It looks very classy.

Re: 04 Brides

For BM dresses, they all know the color (Plum) and i picked a few styles (i have girls that are all different sizes and weights so i want something that compliments them all) and i let them all decide and come to an agreement on a dress. Lucky for me, they all liked the same dress as i liked and really wanted for them. I have 3 BM's so there really isnt much of conflicts. I have a maid and a matron and again i am lucky there really isnt much conflict.

I think letting them pick is a good idea. it shows flexability. i keep telling my cousin i am putting her in canary yellow. only as a joke. these girls are paying for the dress and accessories and they should like what they are buying.

Have any of you girls looked into where you are going for your honeymoon? FI and I are thinking of Italy (Amalfi coast), France, and Spain.

Re: 04 Brides

We were thinking Aruba.

FI was doing a search on vacations and he saw Bermuda and thought Bermuda would be nice because not many people go there and its something different. I am still leaning towards Aruba though.

As long as its tropical and serves me drinks all day and I can sit under the sun and relax thats where I'll be

Re: 04 Brides

HELLO Ladies here I am. You guys are hysterical

Chiapptrid: I love that idea for one of our readers! I will have to look into that more... I want to give the BM more than goodies. Each one of them has different tastes which makes it harder for me.

Marcela: How did the shrimp scampi come out? Yummy I am sure...

We are going to drum rolls...Hawaii!!!
A cruise to be exact. Booked the cruise just have to work on the airfare and hotel in Honolulu and Kauai. We start in Honolulu (staying 2 nights before the cruise leaves), then to Maui, Big Island, Fanning Island, Kauai then back to Honolulu. On our arrival at Honolulu we are going back to Kauai to relax a bit more and spend time with friends.

Re: 04 Brides

My color is going to be red. My favorite color and for all the girls. Which works out perfectly. I think everyone looks great in red. My situation is the flowers. I wanted white flowers for me and red for the girls to go with the dresses. Now I am leaning towards red for me and mixing their bouquet with red and white. All bouquets will be mix of roses and callas. Mine haven't figured it out yet. But want callas.

Re: 04 Brides

I think I lucked out, all my girls are girly girls especially one of my Bridesmaids (FI's cousin) kidding me I think the girl carries the whole body works produts in her pocketbook. So a good bag of lotions and soaps and stuff like that will work out great as gifts. I totally forgot about my readers. I havent asked them yet. I want my cousin and his other cousin as readers. I figure I have time to ask them. I have no idea what to even get them. I cant believe I forgot about them.

OK since I forgot about my readers, what types of gifts are good for them?? and do I have to get them coursages to wear???

I am such a dork. I am so focussed on my bridal party and the wedding that i forgot about my readers...I didnt even ask them to be readers...i should do that shouldnt I???? I am such a silly bride!

Re: 04 Brides

Sorry guys if I am writing right after another post of mine but I keep reading our thread (keep it going ladies I want us to have a button!!) and have to respond. PLUS I only have 25 more posts to go till I am ADDICTED! FH says I am already. The week I found this site I became addicted he says.

Junebride04: Your doing menus for the eparty? I don't think I have the patience to do that. We are FINALLY finalizing where we are having the eparty. After that it will all fall into place...hopefully. I am starting to work on our STD magnets (half the favor, the real favor a frame-I am designing the pic in the frame and I have mentally designed the magnet but need someone to do the production for me.
Junebride are you doing special place cards? I was going to do the simple ones but since my color is red, the invites are ecru (petal paper for the wedding) I thought of giving everyone for a place card a single rose with a tag on it with the names. What do you guys think? For the wedding I am doing the candle place holder.
Edited the invite info. I didn't specify correctly sorry.

Re: 04 Brides

CW: I am in the same boat for flowers. My BM's are wearing plum and my 2 MOH's are wearing lavendar or silver. Dont know yet. Which ever looks better on the girls.

For flowers I have no idea. I want cascading white and purple roses for me and for my girls I want flowers that will flatter the dresses and not make the girls look like a big plum

Re: 04 Brides

Don't worry I didn't ask my reader yet either! I know she will gladly take on that position. She is a very spiritual person. The second is FH's nephew who will be 8 at the time. I don't have to formally ask him so that is easy.
I am getting her a corsage or bout because I am going to also ask her to be my day of coordinator. So I am giving her almost as much as the BMs.

I don't know if anyone receives these or not but I get mailers from Coach all the time on their specials at the outlet. They have amazing deals and I had thought about buying my reader a make up bag from Coach and stuffing it with little things. Similar to what you are doing Chippatrid.

They always have the wrist wallets on sale and key chains. Also the small wallet. The majority is under $100. Just a thought...

Re: 04 Brides

CW _ Yea i'm going to do the menu cards. I think it will add a nice touch.

As far as placecard go, I bought really nice ones from Papyrus, but I was thinking of doing the individual rose thing too since my e-party is right before Valentine's day. I just don't know how i would arrange the roses on the table. Would I lay them flat?? Any ideas??
Where is your E-Party?

Re: 04 Brides

I was thinking of having the roses laying down with a tag tied around them with the names and table numbers. I think the tags should be kind of in the air so people can see them easily. Does that make sense?

Not sure where the eparty will be yet. We have narrowed it down to four places. By Sunday we will know for sure. Crossing my fingers.

Re: 04 Brides

Wanda: The shrimp scampi came out good. However, the recipe falls short on a few things. You definitely need more olive oil and more wine than the recipe calls for. It was good, but there was no sauce left when I mixed it into the pasta. It was dry. And it needed salt. And I'll probably add in more garlic next time, because I loooooove garlic. But overall it was a SUCCESS!! YAY! NO burnt down kitchen for me. LOL!! The only thing that annoyed me is that it took me 2 hours to make the pasta and the chicken cutlets. I guess I need some practice!

Good Luck Wanda! Keep us updated!

I am so lucky FI is the cook between us. He made chicken franchese Sunday night that I swear gets better and better each time he makes it.
