Gosh... I think I am just going to Estelles to get some ideas, maybe Princess Bridal cause it is near there. I hope to make it to Macy's in Smithhaven, but not sure if we will. I dont really know anything else in the huntington like area??? I would love some ideas? We are going to go one other day while she is here so what I dont get to today we will get to the other day.

Good Luck Meghan! Let us know how it goes! I am DYING to go looking @ dresses but I don't know if it's too early and if the people at the stores are going to look @ me weird! Although Meghan you are getting married a few weeks before me!! I think that is the absolute most funniest part of the wedding planning! I don't know how I will keep it a secret from FH we are the worst like that! lol
anyone else like that with FH?? We are constantly giving each other gifts before the 'occasion.' and we can't keep anything from each other-we are the worst! everyone makes fun of us!! haha

Re: 04 Brides
Thanks Alison and Wanda! I am really excited. I know it is a little soon for dresses, but I really want to get an idea of what I want so I can order early. Also, I dont get to see mom much, so it is a nice thing for us to do together.
Off I go!!! (bringing a good strapless bra... is that a good idea??)

Re: 04 Brides
I think the most exciting part of wedding planning is trying on dresses. I have been engaged for six months and I have been dying to go try on dresses. But my mom keeps telling me its too early!!! I am going to start looking for dresses after my e-party.

Re: 04 Brides
Alison you are not nuts. Nuts is me going to try on dresses in november! My wedding at that pt was 16 mos away! The last time I visited Estelle's they had nice Mori Lee samples. They also have beautiful MOB dresses. I plan on going back to try on dresses next year.
I went to Lillette's and tried on about 10+. I walked out of there physically unable to think. It drained me out. I had a small breakfast and I was there for 2 hours.

Re: 04 Brides
I GOT IT!!!!!! I had NO intentions of buying a dress today. But I did. We went to Estelles. It was good for getting ideas, but I didn't see anything I loved there, and the sales ladies did not please me.
Then we went to Princess Bridal in Farmingdale. The service was good, I tried on a ton of dresses, and I found one I REALLY liked. I was not crazy about the place though, they tried to avoid telling you the designer of the dresses, and I think they were lieing when they did tell. I did not feel comfortable buying a dress there.
Last I went to Macy's in Smithhaven. The girl there was excellent, and I again tried on a bunch of dresses. I found one there very similar to the one I liked at the second place, and I really liked that one too. I told the girl about the other dress, and she said she thought she knew the dress (it was the same designer), it was in the back because it had been discontinued, she got it for me, and it was the SAME ONE!!!! I tried it on again, and felt like 'this is it!'. She checked for me, but they said they couldn't order it (she had warned me of this before I tried it on). BUT-- its my size, as it is it would need very little alterations (miracle). I bought the sample. We thought it was a sign, the way the whole thing happened. It was half price. It needs dry cleaning, but it is in good condition otherwise.
I am so excited. I would have paid full price for it, but now I don't have to!
To top it off, mom insisted on paying (before we chose a half price one LOL).
Now I need to find a really good drycleaner that works on silk organza....

Re: 04 Brides
This is it, but it doesn't have any button type thing on the satin bands. It is silk organza, the material is so pretty. It is simple and elegant, and it makes me feel like audrey hepburn when its on!!!!
