Dont feel bad my min is 85 and I love it. If a place says something screw them and they just lost out on some business.

Re: 100-125....small?
Try Stewart Manor Country Club...I loved it but it was a smaller room that wouldn't accomodate all the guests....I wish I was having a smaller wedding and didn't have to invite my fourth cousin twice removed ex-boyfriend's cat!!

That is not small at all. I think that is average. I am having about 130 and never had a problem at a Hall. Matter of fact most halls have rooms for all size receptions. Let me know if you need some suggestions on Halls. HTH

NO! I'm having 100 (I actually started w/75, but for the date I chose it had to be 100). I had a budget & I really wanted to try to stick to it as best as I can! PLUS by having the 'smaller' party & doing a ton of DIY stuff, I can splerge in areas I wouldn't be able to before.

Re: 100-125....small?
I had a 125 minimum at my place. Most places were willing to do that. I ended up only having 121 guests, but it was 123 because you and FH count as guests, so we just had to pay full price for 2 vendors. I thought our wedding was a perfect size. I know people say its small, but I honestly felt I had a hard time finding time to spend with everyone. I don't know how all the brides with 200+ guests did it. I looked at: Thatched Cottage (loved it - its where I got married) Riviera Swan Club Lands End Crescent Beach Club Harbour Club Bridgeview Yacht Club
All were willing to work with that number, except, I think Lands End and CBC wanted 150.
Good luck!

Re: 100-125....small?
My idea of the perfect wedding is small and intimate. I purposely booked a room in an RH that could NOT hold more than 100 people. We'll be having about 80-90 and I think it's perfect. Nobody that I'll be thanking for coming and then turning to DH to say, who was that?!?

I honestly thought that was not small. I always took pride in the fact that I had a very small group of close freindsand so does the FH But since I started calling venues it sure has made me feel like crap
Should I be honest with myself and tell my FH that a hall might not be for us or can we really make this work?
What about George Washington Manor in Roslyn?
We had close to 100 guests.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
I know how you feel. My min is 50 !!
Most of them made me feel that I shouldn't even think about a reception unless I booked it a restaurant.

Our minimun is 100 at The Historical Thatched Cottage. You will find something you love. Good luck.

Re: 100-125....small?
I'm not sure what the minimum is, but The Metropolitan in Glen Cove max's out at 150, I believe...but to fit comfortably 125. So you might want to look there. I had that problem, too. We will probably end up with close to 125-130 and our minimum is 150 at Jericho Terrace...but we fell in love with the hall, so we are just going to eat up the money. Maybe everyone we invite will surprise us and RSVP 'Yes' :)

The Nantucket Deck at Coral House requires a 100 minimum. I think they all so have a smaller room that can accommodate a smaller reception. Good luck but I do think you can pull it off.

Re: 100-125....small?
Our mininum for a Sunday afternoon was 125 and we had 100...but we could have had the 100 person mininum. Don't worry...it's a great number, you will definitely find a RH esp in this economy lol....there are so many that will work with you. And when you do get married, you have time to say hi and even chat with all your guests!!

Re: 100-125....small?
I would give anything for a 'small' wedding! Our guest list is huge and I never pictured myself having a big wedding...It is all for FH with HIS 170 person guest list!!!!

Re: 100-125....small?
We're inviting 140 and expecting 125 or even fewer. I don't think it's 'small' by any means; it was either we invite 140 of our close family & friends or 300. There are a TON of smaller venues that have a low minimum.
