People can be very strange. My best friend got $83.27 in an envelope with no card, and the .27 was in change!!!!!
THAT IS HILARIOUS!!!!
I will never understand what people think when they do these types of things!!

Re: $126.26
That is pretty funny. Maybe they messed up and thought they were writing a check for a bill!

my aunt sometimes does stuff like that...it's a joke...kind of weird... but I guess it's a different amount than anyone else would give you...

For both ladies, what was your pp charge? It's possible they called the hall to find out so they could know what to give you and they are treating it like a restaurant, pay the bill plus a certain % for tip or in this case cover the pp charge plus a % for your gift?? Don't know.

It's a jewish tradition to give multiples of 13.. maybe that is good luck, is she jewish?![]()
She is jewish... but 13 doesn't go in evenly... unless you think of the 26's as 2x13![]()
it is actually in multiples of 18..

Re: $126.26
That's a really odd amount to give. One of DH's teachers who didn't come to the wedding sent us a check for $87. I thought it was weird until he told me that's the year he graduated elementary school.

Re: $126.26
I have two guesses:1. She has a weird sense of humor.
or
2. She is just a weird person in general.
I am willing to bet one of the above is true.

as weird as that is, someone gave us a card and in it it said 'buy a lotto ticket and thank me later.' The card had $1 in it and no signature. We have no idea who that was from.

Re: $126.26
If you add the 1, 2 and 6 it makes 9, if it was 126.24 it would have made sense - 9/24, but it wasn't so i'm just grasping here...

Re: $126.26
126.26...there are some asian ppl who are into the numbers theme. if you say the numbers in chinese (cantonese) seperately it comes out:
yut (1) yee (2) look (6) yee (2) look (6) it turns into a sounding game. it means 'wealth comes easily' to you. it's a strange game for one to pay attention to but the numbers she gave you is much better than a certain number i don't want to say.

Re: $126.26
I got a gift of $613 and I can't figure out why - although it was a very generous gift, it is not divisible by 18 - other than that I can't think of any reason for the # 613.

Re: $126.26
I don't know either, but 1+2+6 = 9 x 2 = 18. 1+8 = 9. There is something about the 'power of 9'...I can't remember now but it is a powerful number and can only be divided by 3 (3 times)...it's supposed to be good luck. Plus, any number you add to 9 becomes that number when you break it down (5+9=14. 1+4=5). It's odd, I know...but I think we're all trying to make sense of it too!Plese let us knw if you figure it out.
