$1500 flowers - is this possible??

hi girls,

i know it's a small budget... but do u think $1500 is realistic for the below?? if so, any florists suggestions?? i am not particular about flowers.... anything that looks pretty is fine with me.

i will have about 225 guests at my wedding, therefore will need

- approximately 20-22 centerpieces
- 1 bo-k for me (NO toss bo-k is needed)
- 2 (or MAYBE 3) bo-k for bridesmaids
- 1 boutonniere for FH
- 2 (or again, maybe 3) more for groomsmen.
- 2 corsages for moms
- 1 boutonniere for dad

that's probably all i need... what do u think??

any advice is welcome!! thanks in advance!!

ETA: OTHER THAN JENNBLOSSOMS.COM, ARE THERE OTHER FLORISTS YOU WOULD RECOMMEND THAT WOULD WORK WITH A LOW BUDGET? THANKS!

Depending on what you want as centerpieces, it is definately possible. I spent about that on all my flowers.

Well, we are having only 85 guests and are spending $1500 for flowers. So I would answer probably not. But you never know.

It really depends on your centerpieces if you would be willing to do all candles or candles and rosepetals it would probably cost less then that.

This is what I got for about $1500-$1600:

For $1600.00 I got my bouquet, MOH bouquet, 2 bm bouquets and 2 flower girl baskets filled with roses. I got 2 mothers corsages, 3 father boutineres, boutineres for DH, 3 groomsmen, and 2 ringbear. I also got the following:

1 Flower arrangment for buffet table
1 flower arrangement for gift table
1 flower arrangement for bathroom
1 centerpiece for my table
18 centerpieces (vases with floating roses, pebbles, and votive candles)
2 Large fica trees which I rented ( and delivery charges) and these were expensive!
2- Pew arrangement rentals
3 flower head pieces.
2 dozen roses for my cake

shamrock: what did u you use for your centerpieces?

cubanbride: did you have low centerpieces or high centerpices?

i'm totally willing to use rose petals and candels! my wedding will be in september and i was told that it would probably be reasonably bright when we enter the ballroom, so flowers may look better than candels (without the darkness, candels won't stand out as much.)

oh... and the tables will be oval shaped, would that make a difference??

thanks!!

i'd say yes, but you may have to have smaller centerpieces with some candles in the mix...

I think it's definitely possible. If you are willing to do low CPs and use mostly roses. I'm paying slightly over $1100 for 14 CP, my bouquet (will be mostly roses with some callas), MOH bouquet, 2 pieces for the church, piece for the Virgin Mary, FG basket, 4 bouts and 3 corsages. I'm also not particular about flowers so I wanted to spend as little as possible.

I'm using the florist my hall uses and with approx 18 centerpieces, 5 bm bo-k's, 6 gm bouts, 1 for fh, 3 dads (divorced) 3 moms, 2 grandma's i was quoted 1054. I get a deal on my centerpieces... I'm paying $15/piece for $40 centerpieces.

It's doable, you just gotta look :)

Try Jenn at www.jennblossoms.com. After talking with some of the girls on here she works best when you give her the price and tell her you won't go over that. Then she just does your wedding and tells you what type of flowers you can afford with your budget. I gave her a limit of 600 and she is just working within it and still meeting all of my needs. Tell her you want to stick to a 1200 budget and I'm sure it can be done with what you are looking for.

I am using Flowers by Burton in Melville and the are very reasonable, I have about 220 guests also and they quoted me $2000. Also they allow you to choose any flowers you want, meaning they wont charge you extra if you choose expensive flowers.

Try contacting Laurie from LA Blossom. I'm sure she could work within your budget. You can also post on the Vendors board, tell everyone what you're looking to spend, exactly what you need, and let them tell you what they can do. That's how I started my search.
