2 MOHs? Opinion.... (kind of long)

Original post by Dalito322

Need your opinion girls....

Does anybody have 2 MOHs? Like, not a Maid and Matron of honor - 2 Maids of Honors.

Here's what I'm thinking - my sister is my MOH, but she lives in Baltimore, and I know my best friend and BM has been doing the majority of work on the Shower (which apparently I'm 'not' having, but already figured out when it is ), and if I didn't have a sister should would definitely have the MOH title.

I made my sister MOH basically because she's my sister, and I felt it'd be wrong to do otherwise.....and I really wanted her to be that, I know it meant a lot. But I totally feel like my one BM deserves the title too, and of course she's next in line.......Is it even feasable to ask her to be my 2nd MOH with only 2 months til the wedding? Or is that like a slap in the face to my sister? Like, 'you're not doing enough for this wedding, even if you can't help it cause you're not local, so I'm going to make her MOH too'. Know what I mean? It's an option that's only just occured to me.....

BM wasn't expecting to be my MOH to begin with - I just would like to find a way for people to recognize what she's done for me. I have 5 BM total, she is the only one that lives nearby.

Any thoughts?

(BTW Best friend BM is organizing the entire bachelorette party on her own too)

My friend is getting married next Saturday and two weeks ago she made her best friend her m of h and her m of h (who was her cousin) became the bridesmaid. I would not worry about changing things at last minute, this is your wedding day and people should understand that.

You mean its not common to have 2 MOH ?? Because I have 2, they are both my really good friends.1 I've known for 13 years, and the other about 8.

I Love them both, but when I told me mom that my 2 MOH are my friends, she got really upset because I have two older sisters and she says they should have been first on the list

So now, should I have 4 MOH ?? Isn't that just plain ridiculous though ??

I see no problem with you having 2 MOH.

Go for it

Yeah but dont feel like you have to promote her to Maid of honor. Make sure you take her aside and thank her for everything she has done for you. If you feel like you would like to make her a MOH this close to the wedding thats fine but being a BM is a lot of work too so everyones expected to chip in.

I have 2 Matrons of Honor (my two sisters) and 1 Maid of honor (my cousin. 2 other BMs (step sisters). I guess I always kind of look at this differently...I wouldnt change titles depending on what theyre doing. I chose my two sisters to be matrons of honor bc theyre my sisters and my cousin as my maid of honor bc shes like my best friend. To be honest, I guess this goes against ettiquette, I dont think they have to do anything special for me or planning or whatever...they are just there for me when I need them!

So, I made my decision and decided not to bump my friend up to MOH. If it was last year, that's a different story, but at this point it really is too late. She happens to be the point person for most things....but she is the only person that lives near me, I'm sure if my sister lived by she'd be doing more too. Just makes sense to keep things as is.

I'll make sure to thank her and get her something special though.... Thanks for all the thoughts and advice!

With two months I would probably just acknowledge her as everyone has said...since I did not live on LI, I had a lot of great friends plan different events for me and help me where I live but kept bridal party to mainly family so I got gifts for them all...but if you want 2, go for it!!

I have 2 maid of honors and a matron of honor. They are really no standards I think, u just have 2 decide who u want to sign.

After 2day though I will have a matron of honor--who is my an older woman an dear/close friend and my close friend from grade school.

What's the big deal?
It's just a title.
