Another question about BCC!
Since the cake is not made on premise and it is included in the price... how are you going about choosing your cake. I've called the recommended vendors and I guess they just bill the Bellport? and also... any recommendations of the three bakeries thye have in their book?
Thanks!!

i'm guessing you just go to the bakery you chose and let them know you are a bcc bride. just like the flowers, i am sure they will let you know what kind of cake you can get with the credit bellport gives you towards the cake. when i go to do this i am going to go to the rolling pin. i have heard nothing but good things about them!
btw, does anyone know if bellport offers any sort of centerpieces that are not affiliated with their florists? i was wondering if maybe they had like candelabras or anything that i could use instead of getting flowers. thanks!

I booked a florist not affiliated with them but they will give you money back I think its about $20-25 per table which you could put towards rentals of candelabras.
Thanks for the info on the cake, I did contact Rolling Pin and t hey include a ' standard' cake which is what is on their website, but will charge you extra for anything other than a simple round 4 tier cake. Ex. I reallky want a square cake, but that will cost extra so it depends what you want. I hear great things about their actual cake though and the baker there seems really nice to work with.

This is a response for nosneb920....the high rise on the cake i have not seen yet at the BCC, but most of the time by that point of the night, alot of people won't notice the cake stand, so its better off not spending the money. As for a cake recommendation for ccmurph, the Rolling Pin is the way to go. Awesome reviews and you should def look at their website. Also i highly recommend Artie from Artistic images as a photographer, we booked him and couldn't be happier...we just did our e-pics on friday and he was so great and i love his style. He has great talent and thats the one person you really need to click with the whole day, they are with you from mornig till night. ..i hope this helps everyone!!!

It's been a while since i've checked in and i see so many new BCC brides -- how fun!
greg & i booked our band & photog and we're both super stoked... we didn't go with any preferred vendors - but we're really happy with our decisions....
today is the 1 year mark til the wedding, so we went to dinner at the BCC to celebrate and were able to see the place set up for a wedding tonight -- it just made us that much more excited.
also - to share -- the bride tonight had really simple centerpieces and the room looked phenomenal with them - so if any of you are stressing over smaller centerpieces to save a few bucks but don't want it to look chincy - these were maybe 6x6 glass cube vases with a 7' high arrangement of lavendar roses and lime green hydrangeas... and they were simple and clean and looked gorgeous on the tables.... so i just wanted to share because FH and i aren't looking to spend a ton of money on flowers but we also want the table to look really pretty....
fun fun fun!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the chairs get chair covers...that is what I was planning. I haven't done flowers yet, but otherwise I haven't used any of the preferred vendors yet. I got better prices and liked other people better.
Are any of you using a shuttle company and if so which one? I am trying to get shuttles for the guests from the hotel to the reception and back.

I'm working with Gerard to possibly get different chairs ( at my cost, not BCC) he just knows some vendors or I'll be going with chair covers from a lady I know in Nassau County. Either way, I just hate those chairs!
For the shuttle which hotel are you using? I'm using Hyatt in Hauppauge so I have to pay for my shuttle and we're probably going with Coach USA because we have a large amount of people staying at the hotel.
I couldn't find a hotel that offered a shuttle to the actual reception hall, just to the airport.
