Thought I would make a thread just for us ... even if we are few and far between! Our 2010 brides will soon start getting married! Anyone going to any of their set ups? Im actually going to one in May if I am not mistaken to see what our venue will look like on our wedding day

Re: 2011 De Seversky Brides
Hi girls!
FH and I went to the tasting on wednesday night and I took a few pictures of the food. Sorry if it's not too clear, I took it with my iphone. This was the star of the night, the Oven Roasted Beef Filet with Gruyere Crepes, Cipolini onions, bordolaise sauce, vegetable tart and mushroom ragout.
SOOO good! The mushrooms on there were fantastic, I wanted more.
The chicken with risotto cake was good. I liked the risotto cake, my parents and FH didn't.
The salmon with new potatos was delish, and so was the first course, grilled shrimp with asian slaw. YUMMM That was really good.
FH and I had a great time showing the place to my parents. They really loved it and the place looked sooo lush and green. I'm very happy with that since FH and I went in february.
FH and I didn't like some of the hors D'oeuvres so I really want to taste some of the other stuff offered on our proposal. Eric mentioned that we were trying a new menu that night.
Looks yummy! Are you going for another tasting...since you didn't love all the hors d'ouvres?
Great to see pictures

Yes, I spoke with Eric at the tasting and I asked about some of the other stuff on the menu proposal that came with the contract. For example, I was really excited that they offered tuna tartar and salmon bellini. Perfect light food for a June wedding. He suggested that we come again, closer to our wedding date, perhaps in March. I definitely plan on going to another. Food is sooo important to me and we booked De Seversky without a tasting because of such raves about the food!
I really need that aspect to be perfect!
And the pictures don't do the entrees justice. The filet was so beautifully presented and delicious. I would gladly pay $30+ for that as an entree at any restaurant.
have you been to a tasting yet?

Re: 2011 De Seversky Brides
Hi Ladies! I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm also a 2011 deSeversky bride and it seems like I am really behind the eight ball! I've had my RH booked since April, but I have nothing else booked at this point.
I was also at the food tasting this past Wed! I currently live in DC with my FH, but we came up just for the food tasting. I thought the food was amazing, but agree that there should have been some of the food from the original menu.
I'm having the European Style for my reception and was wondering which rooms people were doing for dinner and which room for dancing? Everyone in my family has a different opinion about it!

Yay, welcome! Didn't the place look awesome on wednesday??? I kept on noting places I wanted to take pictures.
What were your favorite items from the tasting?
eta: I've only booked the photog and RH so don't feel too bad! We still have time although I'm slightly more stressed now that I've hit the year mark!
I'm also doing European style and def want the dancing to be in the glass room. It will be awesome to dance 'outside' under the stars!

Lol, yeah apparently! That's pretty cool. I originally wanted a Saturday in either May or June, but I waited too long too book. They had the Sunday of Memorial Day open so I grabbed it! So excited, I love deSeversky....it just took me awhile to commit! I looked at literally 20+ RH's!

It was more beautiful than I had remembered it! I especially liked the candles in the room they had the tasting in (especially since that is one of the less pretty rooms).
The beef filet was by far my favorite! My FH liked the lamb chops and the shrimp from the chef attended station. As far as appetizers, I liked the beef wellington, spinach artichoke crisp, and the one with the avocado. The rest were not as good to me.
I'm just nervous because it seems like everything is booked so far in advance! I'm looking into photographers now and deciding between doing a band or a dj.
As for the rooms, I originally wanted to the party portion in the glass room. Then my dad and my wedding planner convinced me otherwise. Then during the food tasting my mom was trying to convince me to do the party in the glass room. So everyone is driving me nuts already!!
It's nice to be able to chat with people going through a similar process!

10er crashing here! Just wanted to let you know I got married at De Seversky on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend this past year and it was perfect! It was great knowing that everyone had off the day before and the day after the wedding Also, we had a European Style with the cocktail hour in the Library and the green room (thats what I call it...dont know the official name) on the left side of the mansion, then moved to the ballroom for the formal dinner, then back to the left side of the mansion in the Terrace room for the dancing and partying! We also extended the reception 30 min so we had a 6 hour reception. We LOVED that format and received so many compliments on it! All of you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about with de seversky...all of the food was out of this world and they far surpassed our expectations. I will be writing a review soon and also will add some pictures soon as well. Hope this helps, good luck, and happy planning!!! Let me know if you ladies have any questions whatsoever

YES, okay, I am not alone. The beef wellington and spinach artichoke crisp were the two our tables liked!

Re: 2011 De Seversky Brides
So girls ... I seem to be struggling with my Hotel Block! I cant decide if I should go with closer which is a bit more expensive at the Claremont ... or ... further away at the Hyatt which doesnt have the lovliest view but does have beautiful accomodations and is $30 dollars cheaper per night.
HELP! What are you girls doing for hotel blocks? What sort of pricing are you getting?
Hampton Inn right next to the Hyatt was the cheapest but I didnt love their accomodations of their personality!
