Original post by Pretty_In_Pink

Hey gals, So I decided to start this thread just so we can help each other out, or whatever. lol
I am in the Garden room and my ceremony will be in the grassy knoll area.
My theme color is pink, ivory and gold, im trying to go with a victorian style. The colors will be very muted.

Where will your Ceremony be?
And the reception room?
What is your theme?

2012 crasher! Pretty in Pink im so happy you decided WM!!! And we are going for the same victorian feel!! Im in the manor room. Im actually going there tomorrow to meet with their in house florist. Im using tall crystal candelabras as the centerpeices and Im currently on the hunt for vintage favors. I would LOVE to do victorian teacups at each place setting with candles in them then place a single rose on top but im having a hard time finding them locally ( on etsy the shipping would be 200.00 :( ) Ill keep u updated if i find any vintage-victorian finds ;)

Hey girls! Anyone having the 8pm start ceremony and then the Garden Room?
We thought long and hard about either the 12PM or the 8 - 1:30AM times. We went with the 8 for May 2013 but now FMIL is being a little passive aggressive about it being too late. My parents (who are paying ) think we should do what we want and the 8PM is fine. People only have to stay up late one time, all our friends will have no problem with it, and if people leave around 12:30 or 1 I really don't care because I think they are giving us a lot for our money.
I'm open to the afternoon time but FH prefers the evening.
It's a popular place so other brides MUST do the 8PM! And honestly, most weddings I've been to ended around 1am and we had a great time! Any other thoughts?

I'm doing an 8pm start time and if you, fh and mom are okay with it then do it. Unfortunately you can't please everyone.

I am doing the 8pm start also, I really wanted to walk down the aisle when the sun was out. So I picked July, the sun will set around 8:30. So it leaves me enough time.... Also if you want you could do a first reveal 2 hrs before and get all your pics done. So you can enjoy your cocktail hour.

Thanks!!
I'm not worried about missing stuff. We checked sunset times and it should be nice and light out almost until the end of cocktails. I also think it will be so pretty there at sunset.
The FMIL thinks people will leave I mean, I know some will but many will stay! I'm not stressing about pleasing everyone so I'm not too worried about it. Once we commit to the time/place, we are owning it!! haha

The younger crowd will def stay. Like it's been said you can't stress over everything you'll wear yourself out.

I am so mad about this!!! My MOH knows the owner and their stuff used to be so good - I don't know what happened. We get pastries from there a lot and they are always so delicious. Maybe wedding cakes isn't their thing.

Does anybody know how many bridal suites they have? Because if there is only one and there's two weddings at the same time, how does that work. I'm sure there is a logical answer. May have to put in a call to them tomorrow.

I know for a fact they have 2 bridal suites.

Yes, they have 2! The only thing I didn't love was that it's only really one room so I think it'll be a tight fit when everyone is in there, but I'm sure we'll be doing pictures mostly. I still don't know the logistics with the photographer and if I should get dress in there, etc...
Does anyone know when they will contact me for a tasting? I'm super excited!! And I'm curious as to how bad the cake actually is haha... but they are putting out extra desserts and the cordial bar so I'm not worried They have been so super amazing and sweet to me, and the only place that treated me as well as if I was having a 200 person wedding. No pressure from them and I LOOOVE the house and grounds! We may try the restaurant on Friday with the parents also!

They do showcases throughout the year so be on the look out that's where you get to taste the cocktail hour food. And it's really good. As far as a formal tasting, I think you have to arrange it. They will call you to pick your menu 1 to 2 months before your date.

Bringing this thread back once again! lol
Did anyone meet the wedding coordinator they provide? I had to cancel my appointment and never booked again I know I should do it but I'm busy and don't really feel like I need a coordinator but I'm sure it would be great to do. Do they only meet with you once or do they help you the whole time? I don't know how it works because it's free and I was so surprised it was included!

I meet w/ them next weekend so I can tell you how it goes after that!!! :) I know a few girls on the 2012 thread said they didn't care for them too much - they aren't like the cheeky glam girls. I think they are mostly there to help you through the planning process..I think DOC might be extra, but I could totally be wrong!
