Hey gals, So I decided to start this thread just so we can help each other out, or whatever. lol I am in the Garden room and my ceremony will be in the grassy knoll area. My theme color is pink, ivory and gold, im trying to go with a victorian style. The colors will be very muted.
Where will your Ceremony be? And the reception room? What is your theme?

Okay Ian told me that since all of the main dishes/entres' are included I didn't need a food tasting. He just told me to come to the showcase to taste cocktail hour food. I just have to double check about the dates.

They just called me to go over my menu but I was asleep. I hope it's a tasting and not just me picking stuff. I'm definetly going to demand a tasting.
Are you invited to their showcase on March 21st?? They are going to have cocktails and drinks if you would like to try out some of the food. If ur not invited make sure to call them, their invite says specifically its for only westbury brides by invite only and u can bring up to 4 people including the bride and groom.

Sweetpea when is your wedding? Do you use someone else's account? I'm confused lol ... I have the March showcase also. I heard the food is great so I'm not worried but I thought they had a time where you taste it all anyway! Hopefully at the showcase they have the cocktail food and cake, etc.

Maybe that's why they did not invite you to the event in March, because it is only an anniversary party? I'm assuming that the Feb. showcase is open to people who have not yet booked at WM, so it isn't invite only like the one in March?? I am not sure... I received an invite to the March one in the mail a couple of weeks ago.

Excuse me? Only an anniversary party? My anniversary party is just as important as my wedding was and just as important as anybody else's wedding. I am paying the same amount of money

The February one is for people who have had their meeting with Dazzling Moments. You have to get invited through them! It's a private showcase - 1 vendor from each category, food & cocktails and it's RSVP - only a certain # of spots. HTH!

Oh, gotcha! Thanks for explaining... don't think I am actually going to meet with Dazzling Moments. I'm doing pretty good on my own and with recommendations from friends/family.

I'm sorry if I offended you... I was just trying to offer a possible reason as to why you didn't receive an invitation/weren't told about the event in March.

Hey girls! Anyone having the 8pm start ceremony and then the Garden Room? We thought long and hard about either the 12PM or the 8 - 1:30AM times. We went with the 8 for May 2013 but now FMIL is being a little passive aggressive about it being too late. My parents (who are paying ) think we should do what we want and the 8PM is fine. People only have to stay up late one time, all our friends will have no problem with it, and if people leave around 12:30 or 1 I really don't care because I think they are giving us a lot for our money. I'm open to the afternoon time but FH prefers the evening. It's a popular place so other brides MUST do the 8PM! And honestly, most weddings I've been to ended around 1am and we had a great time! Any other thoughts?
I am doing the 8pm start also, I really wanted to walk down the aisle when the sun was out. So I picked July, the sun will set around 8:30. So it leaves me enough time.... Also if you want you could do a first reveal 2 hrs before and get all your pics done. So you can enjoy your cocktail hour.
You got the date we tried to get but they said it was already booked congrats. We are getting married the day before you in the same time frame. I was hoping they had fireworks I am hoping for good weather, a great wedding & honeymoon and a lifetime of happiness for all of us

Re: ***2013 Westbury Manor Thread****
Hello All! My Fiance and I booked at WM last friday, so excited! We were looking for something that wasn't your typical RH and loved the place. We are going for a rustic elegant look and this fits perfectly (colors dark blue, brown, and green for now...).
Ceremony will be there, in the Manor room. Cocktail in the polo lounge, and reception in the garden room. We are looking to do entirely gluten free and they will be working with us to personalize the menu to match that.
Two questions:
Has anyone had issues there with winter weddings and snow storms? I believe they had said something about rescheduling if there was a weather related cancellations, but nothing was written in the contract (we are getting a bit worried).
They had said that an hour notice could allow us to have the wedding outdoors if we wanted, but that was also not written into the contract. Will there be an issue with that?

I also asked about their policy on inclement weather. They gave me the same answer that they gave you. I think they will reschedule it if it is something like a blizzard but not for flurries.
In regards to having your wedding set up outside. I'm sure they will be able to accommodate you because its not going to cost them extra in man power or money to move it. I feel like so much of this process is having faith in the people you booked with!
And...Congrats to you Georgious =)

Oh, I didn't even think of that! I know we wanted the 18th or 20th and both were booked, so there must be some lurking around there not using LIWeddings :)

Thank you! I am hoping I can have some faith, I'm not good at that!
