***2013 Westbury Manor Thread****

Original post by Pretty_In_Pink

Hey gals, So I decided to start this thread just so we can help each other out, or whatever. lol
I am in the Garden room and my ceremony will be in the grassy knoll area.
My theme color is pink, ivory and gold, im trying to go with a victorian style. The colors will be very muted.

Where will your Ceremony be?
And the reception room?
What is your theme?

I'm considering NOT getting uplighting for the garden room if I go with a DJ that doesn't offer it. Does anyone think the room will be pretty enough as is? I hope to have lots of candles on the tables with flowers. I don't really want so much of a 'club' feel but uplighting can be reeeeeallly pretty.
I guess I can always go with the DJ if I love him the best and worry about hiring someone for lights later. I'm sure I'll feel much better after the showcase and I see the room again!! Maybe they'll even have it lit so we can see it better.

We are looking at doing the up-lighting on the walls, to create a romantic feel. As for the lights while everyone is dancing we have decided to leave that out. I feel the flowers plus the up-lighting colors on the walls will fall into play once all figured out.

But remember WB Manor, any room is beautiful as is, just to make more of an impression maybe up-lightening will make it priceless!
Make sure to ask many questions and tell them you do not want a club feel but a romantic feel to the room.

Good luck!

Omg you have to tell me more about the lightning. How are they going to do it? Pricing and description. It sounds like a really nice idea.

The guy was great he was giving so many great ideas he said with that room he would do blue uplighting and the windows and drapes pink then he showed us some amazing pics with the blue and pink lighting. I never thought how much lighting could make such a huge difference after seeing that I now know that I can not go without uplighting. After counting each window in the manor room and how many lights we would need the price was 1450 which I thought was great compared to some of the other quotes I received .

We are using bravura in the manor room and the lighting package was cheaper and as explained by them bc of the dark walls the colors would bounce off, they suggested not doing white but going w amber. They have uplighting panels and the system that goes over the dj booth that can hold the gobo w your monogram.

Bravura was amazing in showcase and I k ow we made the right decision for us. Good luck!!!

Awesome, thanks for sharing!! It's really something I'm torn about. My preferred DJs do not offer this so I was thinking of getting a price quote from Prestige also.

Did they have a showcase yesterday also or they just invited you because the lightning guy was there? I wish I was there to see the lightning?

Not yet, we will be scheduling something with them soon. But I heard from a few WB Manor Brides already that they are good.

Good luck

Can you let me know what they are pricing you at? We are so confused with the DJ's and special lighting companines.

So glad you got to see the birds, we were there 2 weeks ago and I went nuts over them all, especially the white one!
