Hey gals, So I decided to start this thread just so we can help each other out, or whatever. lol I am in the Garden room and my ceremony will be in the grassy knoll area. My theme color is pink, ivory and gold, im trying to go with a victorian style. The colors will be very muted.
Where will your Ceremony be? And the reception room? What is your theme?

I actually just came back from a meeting with a lighting specialist at westbury manor I fall in love even more every time I go visit and all the birds were out.. But we meet with prestige lighting they actually came over to westbury to meet with us and we were able to have our meeting in the room were having our reception at (manor room) and the lighting ideas he was given us was just unbelievable! And his pricing was great!!!
Omg you have to tell me more about the lightning. How are they going to do it? Pricing and description. It sounds like a really nice idea.
The guy was great he was giving so many great ideas he said with that room he would do blue uplighting and the windows and drapes pink then he showed us some amazing pics with the blue and pink lighting. I never thought how much lighting could make such a huge difference after seeing that I now know that I can not go without uplighting. After counting each window in the manor room and how many lights we would need the price was 1450 which I thought was great compared to some of the other quotes I received .
How are they different from the dj lightning?

The dj only really lights up the dance floor and does certain spotlights. the uplighting lights up the walls and windows and they can also light up ur tables and or centerpeices

Some DJ companies offer uplighting for the room as well. Not sure if that's helpful or not

Does anyone have any current information on the Viana Hotel and Spa?? Possibly looking to block rooms there, but I have heard so many conflicting things about what they offer.
Do they or don't they offer shuttle service to WM? Is it free or is there a charge? Also, if anyone knows whether they do deals for off-season pricing, that would be awesome information. Thanks!

I am using the vianna. I LOVE Kim she is the contact person. She has been amazingly helpful. Give her a call and she will work w you. Also, our shuttle was included and you can not beat he comfort of the rooms, or the amenities the hotel offers. there is also a movie theatre next door for out of towners, and a mcdonalds and subway in walking distance. I woudl highly recommend them. We also got engagd there and they have always treated us wonderfully. If you need Kims contact info let me know!
Good luck!

Thank you! I would love Kim's contact info! We will be dining at WM on Saturday with both sets of parents to celebrate the one year mark, and I would love to be able to see the Vianna while we are out that way. (We both live pretty far into Suffolk County, so Westbury is a bit of a trek!)

Did anyone RSVP to the showcase and not have them respond?? I was put into Natasha's voicemail twice and then I decided to email them. No response to either message! They probably get the messages just to get an idea but I thought I had to know what time to go?

I RSVP last week. The first time they put me to voicemail and I called back a few days later and got someone. She just wanted to know the time and how many people.

I am not sure about Vienna...but I do know WM deal with the Hyatt and they give u the suite there the night of ur wedding, and they told me if you have over 10 rooms booked then the hotel provides you with free shuttle service.

Thanks, I looked into the Hyatt online and from what I can tell, they do not have a bar. Since we are doing a Saturday afternoon wedding at WM, it is very important to us that we have a place to go back to and hang out with our friends, especially the out of town friends from college! I have heard that the Viana has a bar that is also right across from the game room and seems like the perfect atmosphere for what we are looking to do.
We will be visiting the hotel on Saturday and will let you all know how it goes!

I called Kim yesterday, thanks again! I mentioned your name, but I didn't have a last name, so I am not sure if she knew who you were for sure. She didn't seem like she would even consider throwing in the shuttle, even if I booked a large amount of rooms. Maybe I am just a bad negotiator. lol
We are still going to look at the hotel on Saturday and may end up just looking to pay for the shuttle ourselves, as the Viana is one of the only hotels in the area that I know of that has a bar/lounge that we could use for an after party.
Since our reception ends at 5:30 on a Saturday, it is very important for us to have a place to continue to celebrate, especially with friends and family from out of town.
Does anyone know of any other hotels in the area that have a bar where we could do this? Just to get an idea of what we are looking at...

What about the Garden City Hotel? Might be a bit pricey though...I haven't stayed there in years!

Looked at the website. It's gorgeous! But I have heard that the shuttle would not be included either... and to make our guests pay a ton more (I have heard it quoted at about $30-40 per night more expensive than the rest of the hotels in the area) while still having to pay for the shuttle doesn't make sense to me.
Does anyone know anything about the Hilton Garden Inn in Westbury?? I am pretty sure they have a bar there..
