Hey gals, So I decided to start this thread just so we can help each other out, or whatever. lol I am in the Garden room and my ceremony will be in the grassy knoll area. My theme color is pink, ivory and gold, im trying to go with a victorian style. The colors will be very muted.
Where will your Ceremony be? And the reception room? What is your theme?

Bravura offers uplighting as well.
I am using the vianna. I LOVE Kim she is the contact person. She has been amazingly helpful. Give her a call and she will work w you. Also, our shuttle was included and you can not beat he comfort of the rooms, or the amenities the hotel offers. there is also a movie theatre next door for out of towners, and a mcdonalds and subway in walking distance. I woudl highly recommend them. We also got engagd there and they have always treated us wonderfully. If you need Kims contact info let me know!
Good luck!
I called Kim yesterday, thanks again! I mentioned your name, but I didn't have a last name, so I am not sure if she knew who you were for sure. She didn't seem like she would even consider throwing in the shuttle, even if I booked a large amount of rooms. Maybe I am just a bad negotiator. lol
I called the viana also and she said the shuttle wasn't included. She said the shuttle is moving from a outside company and it will be like 400 I think she said. It would of been nice to have a shuttle included. I might stick to the Hyatt.
We are still going to look at the hotel on Saturday and may end up just looking to pay for the shuttle ourselves, as the Viana is one of the only hotels in the area that I know of that has a bar/lounge that we could use for an after party.
Since our reception ends at 5:30 on a Saturday, it is very important for us to have a place to continue to celebrate, especially with friends and family from out of town.
Does anyone know of any other hotels in the area that have a bar where we could do this? Just to get an idea of what we are looking at...

Does anyone know anything about the Hilton Garden Inn in Westbury?? I am pretty sure they have a bar there..
Duh I totally forgot about that place. We went there after my friends wedding (she got married at Chateau) and the bar stayed open till 3am. It was a great time!

Drove by this place after seeing the Viana on Saturday, and FH was totally turned off by the cheap motel right next to the Hilton, and he hated driving around that area. Said it felt like driving in the city and that he didn't want to make our guests go through that, so we didn't even go in to look. I think he is sold on the Viana.
I am just nervous about blocking the correct amount of rooms!
Is it rude to contact our out of town guests to ask if they are going to want to reserve a room?

I am back and worth about that myself. I felt like I was pressuring people by asking (only asked my aunt and uncle so far lol), but at the same time we need answers!
If you have OOT guests who are bringing their cars they might be more inclined to search out another hotel in the area anyways so I wouldn't worry too much about them... Do you have a lot of OOTers?

Re: ***2013 Westbury Manor Thread****
We definitely have a good ammount of OOT guests. My FFIL's entire family is from PA, and my friends from college are throughout MA, CT, and PA. Then there are my cousins and some Aunts/Uncles on my side from FL, NC, and VA. I am not sure if the OOT guests from my family will be able to make it, but it's still a decent amount. Also, on top of that, because the wedding is in Westbury and my FH lives in Wading River, many of his family and our friends from out there will also be likely to book a room. I just have no idea when it comes to them...
When it comes down to it, I think the 15-room block that does not require a guarantee will be our best bet for Friday night because it will prob just be the actual OOT guests and not the east-enders, but it's the Saturday night of the wedding that I'm worried about. Ahhh stress!

What is everyone thinking about in regards to centerpieces. Are there certain centerpieces that don't work bc WM has oval tables?

Re: ***2013 Westbury Manor Thread****
I think I'm doing a low oblong centerpiece w/ votives all around.. i think it fills some of the table space. I think anything could work! Small round ones might get lost since the tables are large - JMO.

You have to be careful bc the tables r long but not wide so if your centerpiece is too wide then flowers will land in your plates. I am alternating lows and highs. My lows are just rose petals w 5 hurricane candles and small votives and my highs are on chrystal stands.

My centerpieces are low and rectangular. I thought square wouldn't be long enough

Has anyone looked at those tree looking centerpieces? I was looking at some on Etsy and they are really expensive to buy for every table. Do you know if you can rent this from a florist?

I'm going to look at WM this weekend but I'm a little concerned bc I've heard that there is only one bathroom for both parties that they hold there and that it's not separate so you would see guests and share bathrooms with guests from the other party. Is that how the set up is there or is it separate? Also... How come they do not have Saturday night ceremonies there? I was wondering about that bc I really want a Saturday night ceremony

For Friday night or Saturday day in March 2013, we were quoted 57-65 per person (I believe)... Because the rooms we wanted were already booked for March 2013, we ended up with a February date and they dropped the price a bit for us. Because you are looking at a Sunday in April, I feel that it would most likely be comparable - I would definitely look to book soon though, they seemed to be filling up quick. We booked November/December and had difficulty getting the Library/Conservatory for cocktail hour. Hopefully Sundays will not be as full!

I'm pretty sure I remember the bridal suites having a bathroom, so it's only your guests that will be using the same restroom. Also, it seemed to me that they stagger the reception times for the different rooms, so if your party is from 8pm-1am, theirs might be 6pm-11pm, so it wouldn't be for the entire party and the 'rush' times (after CH, after dinner, when there is a lull in any planned activities) wouldn't be likely to happen at the same time. Don't quote me on the exact start/end times though- I do not no how far apart they are staggered.

I have a Saturday night ceremony! It's at 8PM though and it's outside if weather is good. There is just the one bathroom. I know because someone in our family said something about that Like the other girls said, I think the parties are staggered enough, and if there were big problems with that you'd hear more complaints on here. What did they tell you about Sat. night ceremonies? They told me that either room we booked we would be able to have the ceremony there.

That is so bizarre- they said they don't do saturday night ceremonies when i called! maybe they meant in the summer? b/c I'm looking @ June.

Re: ***2013 Westbury Manor Thread****
I dunno... I would maybe call again? I'm in May and I was debating with the banquet manager about doing June and they never said they can't do it. I think Pretty_In_Pink on here (not sure if I spelled it right) is having a June wedding with a ceremony! Maybe it's not Saturday but that still doesn't make sense... Maybe the person who answered didn't answer correctly or something.
