2014 Bride looking for a venue

Original post by gihane

I am a 2014 Bride. My fh and i are about to start looking for venues i wanted to know if anyone can give us some advice on what their experiences have been like when it came to...
Woodbury Country Club
Fox Hollow
Leonard's Palazzo
Giorgio's
watermill
Are there any places we might be overlooking if so please tell us.
We plan on inviting 100 people but we are only going to pay for 80 people just in case if some people cancel at the last minute.
We are both social work grad students and will be graduating next year 2014, which means we are on a budget. we want to mary June 2014. we are looking for venue that has great food, service and ambiance along with a great price.

Try thatched cottage. They can def do a small wedding and have great prices. Also their cocktail hour was the bomb.

Another Thatched Cottage recommendation here! I'm obviously biased lol. They were very flexible with the minimum required. We actually gave them our minimum which we set at 150. I changed my plans of seeing FH before the wedding because there was no way I was missing out on the cocktail hour! lol

I loveeeeeeeeed Thatched...but for some reason I was quoted much higher than I was at Westbury and Smithtown and currently those two are our top!!! I think of all the places we've been the attention to detail and service oriented staff of Westbury & Thatched are unrivaled. And both sites, and the food was phenomenal, not just bland typical wedding factory food.

The Watermill is beautiful (thats why I chose it) : ) But for a Friday or Saturday in November we had to guarantee 125-135 for the smaller room so I am not sure how low they go. Maybe for a day wedding or during the week they would lower their guarantee.
Good Luck and Happy Planning!
