So I went to a run tonight. It's my 3rd since I stated up running again, however it's the first time that I came home and didn't want to die haha! I also ran 5 minutes longer today and almost .25 miles longer! Almost half way there to my 5k

Hi ladies! My name is Nicki and I am 30 years old. I have never been happy with my weight! In fact I don't remember the last time I felt good about my body... and it sucks! I know that they say for someone to love you, you need to love yourself. I don't know if that is so true bc so often I hate myself for the way I look and yet my FH loves me to death!Anyway, I have tried weight watchers on and off for 10 years or so and I can never commit. I am even a member now and I can't seem to keep tracking food. I try but I find that I cheat and even try to lie to myself about point value.. who does that? Anyway I found it difficult because I cook for dinner and its hard to point every little thing you put in the meal and then figure out in the whole meal what fraction of the ingredient you are eating. Anyway, I used to do crossfit but I live on the south shore of LI and my gym got flooded by Sandy :( I joined NYSC two weeks ago and still yet to step foot in the gym. I want so badly to look good in my dress and in fact I have severe anxiety of what I will look like in a wedding gown!
So I my FH cousin lost about 120 pounds by cutting grains. So here I am trying it. It is week 2 1/2 and I am down almost 7 pounds. I feel like now that I am 30 it is harder to lose weight and after teaching for over 8 hours its hard to motivate myself after work... I'm trying though!
I am so happy there is a board like this were I can talk to girls who won't judge! Keep up all the great work ladies, you are all inspirations!

Welcome Nicki! I am a WW lifetime emmeber who put on a few lbs and I am trying to lose them now. As far as cheating yourself on points I have done it, and sometimes still do it. Don't be hard on yourself. Keep checking in here, its good to get motivation from the ladies plus we all know how each other feels!I should try to cut grains. If I could cut pasta out for a week i'd probably lose 5 lbs. I eat WAYYYYY to many carbs!

I at first thought it would be really difficult but it's not that bad. I am a pasta girl too. I just have been loading up on steamed veggies. The biggest tease was that when I walked into work today there was bagels for all the teachers in the office. Now I'm avoiding the office like the plague so I'm not tempted! I just need to really try not go fall off the wagon.
On WW how do you point when you cook your own meals. We should have a weekly recipe share on this site for healthy meals!

I put it into etools recipe builder if its a recipe with a lot of ingredients or if its something simple I'll estimate as best I can.

Welcome ladies. It is that time of the month for me now. I haven't been that bad I did finish the last few mini pieces of easter candy and a Trader Joe's PB and J chocolate bar cause I couldn't control myself. But besides for that I have been really good. Though this week I got off track completely with my workouts I am just really stress. So stressed I had a bottle of wine last night. I need a reset button so that I can get back on track. Hopefully if I am not too fried when I get home from work I will run on the tread mill for a bit.

I have been terrible all week. Ugh...... So down on myself. Not happy with my weight, not happy with my decisions. So frustrating. My mom is coming the 18-22 to go gown shopping and I haven't lost anything. I am pissed.

UGH it is so beyond frustrating. I know it is my fault but it is so hard. My brother came up to visit for the week so we have just been enjoying ourselves. I really gotta get my butt in gear. I am almost to the 9 month mark so I reallllllllly have to stop messing around and get serious.

I hear ya! If loosing weight wasn't hard, EVERYONE would be skinny lol. I would just let go of the bad days, and start all over mentally. My biggest problem has been after being bad, I would give up and cheat for the rest of the day. That would then turn into DAYS of cheating on my diet. I now just finish what I'm eating, and start fresh immediately. I also try not to guilt myself.
Just keep at it :)

I tried on dresses for the first time yesterday and realized how unhappy I was with the way I looked. I actually couldn't enjoy looking at the dresses, that's how disappointed I was. Needless to say, I bought lots of salad ingredients and other vegetables and fruits today. I'm only packing healthy stuff to bring with me to work this week. I also started back on the treadmill today. In two weeks I have another appointment for dresses and I'm hoping to feel a little better about myself when I go.Good luck girls!

Seems like its a bad weekend for everyone must be the nice weather! That's what I'm picking to blame, haha. Don't worry ladies keep at it!! I went away for the weekend and fell off the wagon big time :( really upset about it but food was included so there was limited options and of course no healthy ones! I'm down 9.6 I'm afraid to go near the scale because I'm sure I put 5 back on. I'm gonna have to kick my own butt at the gym this week!! Good luck this week, don't give up!! We can do it!!

Re: 2014 Brides 'Official Weight Loss & Keep It Off' Thread
Hey Ladies. I am trying something new this week. I am going dress shopping saturday and I am so disappointed I haven't lost any of the weight I wanted to. SoonToBMrsPy I know how you feel! I DID started a 30 day squat challenge last week which I have been doing every day.So this week I am going to be following weight watchers as usual but I plan to go low carb. I figure it will just be mon-sat to see if I can do it. (I'm sure if I see a significant loss it will be easy to continue) I know I eat way too many carbs daily so this will be a real challenge for me. This means no bread, pasta, beans, potatoes, rice, cookies, candy, etc.
I already apologized to FH for when I become superb!tch

Ugh, I'm so sorry you felt this way during your dress appointment. This is the reason why I am holding off on dress shopping... I feel like I will just focus on my flaws instead of the dress itself.

The disappointment I felt trying dresses on is what keeps me from being really bad. Granted this week was that time of the month and it was a bad week for me but considered that I cheated I was just like whatever about it didn't beat myself up but also didn't let the one thing I ate snowball into the whole day. I actually managed to lose .6lbs this week :) which is big for me I have PCOS and a slow thyroid so losing weight is really hard so more than a half a pound in a week is great. I am just hoping I can continue from here. What usually happens is I gain 2-4lbs back and fight the battle all over again. I finally am under 150 not by much but it makes me feel better. So I am using this as motivation to push through and to keep going. We can do this ladies. MrsMango I tried to do day 1 of the squat challenge and wanted to cry. I am apparently not fit enough to attempt that yet. I will get there that is a goal of mine. MrsPy don't focus on the bad or look at it as failure take it and use that energy as motivation it is hard but weight loss is never easy if it were we all wouldn't be battle off lbs right now.

This first sentence is why I decided to actually start looking at gowns a few months earlier than I wanted to. I originally wanted to hold off because I'm not happy with my weight, but then I thought what a great motivator (for me at least). That's totally taking something negative and turning it into something positive!

I didn't even want to try on dresses yet cause I wanted to lose weight first but my maid of honor convinced me just to try on dresses just to get an idea. Well I am glad I did cause it put things in perspective and I just think okay I don't want that on my wedding day so it helps motivate myself. I think turning a negative into a positive is the best way to go when it comes to weight loss.

We have smart MOHs - my MOH is the exact reason why I'm going the first weekend of May! Too funny! I'm not beyond excited :)
I also agree, you gotta turn that negative into a positive. It's not easy to do, but when I do do it, it's been helping me with my self-sabotage!

Okay, you ladies are convincing me that I need to try on a dress sooner rather than later! It probably will give me the additional motivation I really need
Plus, the dresses are sooo pretty...

Do it :)!!!
I'm going to DB, mainly because I know I can take pictures there. I want to be able to constantly look at ME in the different dress shapes. I figure a constant reminder will be helpful!
