Psh!!! I WISH I weighed what you ladies weigh. If only that was my starting weight!!! Now I am super jealous.
Hhahaha me too...Sheesh ok ok, I need to loose at least 30lbs to meet my 'goal' which is 175, that's the last weight I was at that I felt comfortable, and looking back at pics, I looked good. Mind you I'm short, so I am for sure over weight, and losing anything helps me towards being very healthy, but on a short term goal, I'm trying to just be under 200lbs. Just seeing my weight starting with 19_ will make me feel great! lol
Starting Weight: 225lbs
2/14/13 221 lbs
2/28/13 217 lbs
3/20/13 210 lbs
5/6/13 205 lbs
So now I am 20 lbs down! 6 more to be under 200! And 30 more to reach my 'goal' I use quotes around goal because according to healthy weight guidelines I need to lose a lot more than that lol but I would be ecstatic with 175 and that's what I'd like to be for the Wedding..Hopefully I can lose about half that between now and ordering a dress, so I can order a realistic size and not have to stop losing weight or take it in a lot.
Congratulations on your weight loss!!!
What have you been doing?

Thanks!!!Weight Watchers all the way! lol I did points tracking only for the first couple of months, then added in making activity goals for myself, just little ones like trying to do 20 minutes of any activity (gardening, cleaning, walking, playing with dog) each day on top of what I normally do, and I was so lazy that even just that helped big time! lol
Now I've just started walking/jogging and I hope to do this regularly to keep me on track!

I need to major vent- i haven't posted on here in months...so since january i gained a good 15lbs...i was so stressed at work, stressed with school, went off birth control and my hormones freaked out...and low and behold i stepped on the scale yesterday and nearly DIED!anyway i want to get back on track, i downloaded my fitness pal again, and signed up for hot yoga and as incentive, renewed my gym membership. My job pays for it (only if you go 10X a month though) so thats definitely incentive....i hope to get down a full 25 within the next 3-4 months i hope i can do it!

Ugh I recently lost 13 lbs and I've seriously gained 5 in the last 10 days. I've lost motivation! I'm in a wedding in June and my wedding is a year and 5 months away and I would love to lose 40-60lbs.. I know that sounds crazy but I've been trying to lose weight my whole life and I just always thought I'd have it together by my wedding day.I have AWFUL genetics that works against me and half these diet programs don't work for me-not because I give up, because I don't, but because ill do thm for months and months and nothing will happen.
I told FH that starting this Monday we really need to help keep each other on track and motivate each other like we have in the past because I'm tired of feeling this way!

awww. Don't get discouraged. I've been struggling for forever too you are not alone on these boards! lol Just think of it this way...the time you have left before the wedding and the weight you want to lose, its like 4 lbs a month! Thats 1 lb a week. Doesn't it seem better when it's like that? lol I know it seems silly but it helps me to break it down. Don't worry about the long run, just worry about this week and getting this week's pound off. Also if you feel like truly nothing ever works, maybe you should get your thyroid checked out...ya never know.
hope that helps!

Go Chaz and Meejack on your weight loss way to go keep it up!I have struggled with weight loss too, I put in the work and the scale doesn't budge or only a few pounds. But I know quitting isn't going to make me lose the weight either so I stick with it and figure eventually the scale will go down. So I have lost weight I've lost 13lbs since I started. The last few months have been slow like 2 ounces one week another 2 ounces another week. Painfully slow lol. BUT the scale is going down so I can't really complain. I started at my heaviest at 161 and I am 148 but I am short I am 5'1 so I am very over weight for my height and frame, seeing I never weighted over 110 until I turned 25 and all of a sudden the pounds flew on overnight.
But I'm with MrsMango where if you get up and work out and watch what you eat at the end of the week you expect a 1bs or 2 weight loss. I'm thinking that you have to be doing some intense workout then. If you thing about it just to lose 1lb in a week you have to burn 3500calories so 7000 to burn 2lbs weight loss at the end. I mean I use my fitness pal and I track my calories I should be at 1lb weight loss a week guess the metabolism isn't what fitness pal thinks or I think it should be lol.
MrsPy so you identified that it is a mental thing. That is great! Your in the right direction. You know what your triggers are helps you avoid them helps you learn to make better choices. Mine was stress and would just let myself go into this stress compulsive eating sometimes really bad. But after I identified my problem I figured out other ways to deal with my stress. I actually like doing very light yoga, cooking actually zens me out so I cook something healthy, or going for a walk or jog. Just try to figure out if its a particular emotion causing your mental want for food. That might help you a lot in trying to find a healthier way of dealing with that emotion or trigger. For some it's just being fatigued, so making healthier choices and taking proper care of yourself helps fatigue. Maybe an underlying health issue? I think that will help you a lot to stick with it. Your on the right path. Keep it up you're going to get there! My trial and error took me 2 yrs and I'm still playing with it seeing what my body needs what it responds best to food and workout wise.
CJ52514 I do couch 2 5k and I am short so I have a shorter stride I job at about 4.5 sometimes higher but now that I am going for longer I am jogging slower at 4.0 3.8 sometimes depending on how I am feeling. There is no such thing as slow jogging maybe if your jogging at 1.8 which is jogging in slow mo lol. as long as your heart rate is up and it is a pace you are comfortable with and able to run the full amount required of that week at then you are fine.

For my C25K ladies, what are your intervals on a treadmill? I walk at 3.5 and jog at 6.0, but I'm only in week 2. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to keep that jogging pace up when the intervals get longer. Is there such a thing as jogging too slow?
I walk at 4. I've always been a faster walker. I started out jogging at 4 as well. Now I'm up around 6. Slow jogging is better than no jogging.

I love the slow jogging is better than no jogging. I tell myself that when I wake up late...I'm like 1 mile is better than no miles! That's really been my motivation, I just need to keep active. One of my biggest motivators has been my Nike Fuelband. It reminds me of an angry pedometer. You set a goal, and it motivates you every time you sync to your phone with new achievements and stuff.
Today I have a new achievement...I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 143! Officially 20 pounds lost, 13 more to go!
Progress:
12/12: 163lb
04/13: 148lb
05/13: 143lb

I feel good! Yesterday and today I have stuck to my diet. I have drank all of my water (9cups each day) and have stayed within my calories. I was SO hungry tonight (that time of the month is approaching) and FH & I got Red Mango but instead of going OVERBOARD I got a little bit with chocolate chips, granola and strawberries. I feel good about my choice and this is how I know this is a lifestyle change. If i commit to 1200 calories it is OK to go over when I am starving as long as I make healthy choices and not binge!

Finished couch to 5k. I was going to go straight into 5k to 10k but I'm gonna focus on building up my speed for a whileand restart the 30 day shred. I've been neglecting my upper body so time to address the issues I have with it.

So I'm curious how much weight everyone here is looking to lose prior to the big day! I currently weigh around 150 lbs (height is 5'8/5'9'). I would LOVE to lose around 15-20 to get down to 130 but I'm not sure if this is a feasible goal.
How about you ladies?
I hope to lose another 15 pounds. I don't want to dip below 130. For reference, I'm 5'7 and the lowest I've ever been was 113, I looked starving, it was awful. The highest I've ever been was this past December, I was 163, which was also when I bought my dress. I want to make my seamstress earn that money, hahha.![]()
Progress:
12/12: 163lb
04/13: 148lb
05/13: 144lb
Looks like we have the same goal and are around the same height!

Wow all of you ladies have been doing amazing!! Even the smallest amount of weight lost is still something to be proud of! I have a feeling we can all do it... We all have more than enough time!! I just need to work on not getting discouraged when I see the scale go up. Sometimes I actually eat worse after that because I figure 'why not, already gained after being good this week, what's another pound' ugh such a vicious cycle!

LOL...sounds good to me! I was looking ahead in the program and I was like there's no way I can run this whole thing at 6.0! I'm going to stick with that rate as long as I can and then drop it when I hit the longer intervals. I couldn't get to the gym 3 days this week to finish week 2 b/c of the end of my school semester, but next week I'm back with full force!

I personaly don't think you NEED to go every day although it does help you form routine. I just don't want you to go every day and then start hating it. It is really important that you are constantly changing up your workouts at the gym to really make sure you don't completely despise it! Now that the weather is getting nicer, on tuesday and thursday power walk around the neighborhood. The more you stay active and change things up the better!Honestly thought I found that I went to the gym all the time but until you really focus on your diet as well the results wont be as noticeable. My FH is doing Insanity but I keep telling him that eating Icecream 2 hours after really defeats the purpose!

I have the same mindset as your FH!
But it's so true. Diet really plays a big role. I just love my carbs so much! I've been doing better with cutting back though.
I try to go to the gym 4-5 times per week. I've only been able to go 3, but I have to start incorporating weights back into my workout. I'm so happy the nice weather is finally rolling in! I love long walks outside with my ipod. Total zone out time right there!

I wish there was a quick and easy way to drop the weight. FH & I have been on track, drinking our water and counting our calories but the weekends always turn out to be a wash ugh. Yesterday we ate out to celebrate Mother's day and today we have been well all day (minus Fraps) and we are ordering Chinese for dinner. We figure if we watch all day long and have chinese for dinner it won't be too bad.. right?!Welcome New Vendors
