2014 Brides 'Official Weight Loss & Keep It Off' Thread

Original post by Soon2BeMrsMango

Hi Ladies. I know some of us talked about having an official weight loss thread, so here it is. I think we should start by introducing ourselves, how much we want to lose, how we plan to do it, etc.

I guess I'll start.

I'm Kristin, 25. I am a Weight Watchers Lifetime member, I lost 30 lbs last year. I've gained about 10 back & want to get them off ASAP before I gain it all back like I have in the past. The winter is the hardest time for me to stay on track. My true issue with weight loss is exercise. I HATE IT!! I can never get into it & that is my goal this year. To lose the weight & get toned. My overall goal is to lose 10 lbs & feel comfortable in a bikini. I haven't worn one since high school.

I think each week we should post our weight loss/gain & what we are doing to stay active.

We can do this ladies with the support of each other!

My plan this weekend is to join LA Fitness. I'm back in the groove of doing an hour of cardio in the morning before work on my treadmill and I would like to do some of the classes in the evening after work.

I'm the queen of excuses and justifying everything so I don't feel as bad lol so the way I look at it....you did a good job on going for a walk that early! You deserved a delicious reward!

Don't worry we all do it. Important this is your going to get back on it tomorrow and hey you were active you went for a walk. It could be worse you could of had the bagels and not have been active at all. That was me last Friday lol.

I have been avoiding this thread because my weight loss has been such a tedious process. FH and I have been on and off constantly!! From the end of 2012, FH has lost about 30 pounds and I have lost 8. I fluctuate 3 pounds up and down almost every week because we generally cheat 1/week. This week is no different and we are cheating today. We can't help it!! We love to eat. Tomorrow is my 5 month mark till the wedding and I am hoping I can lose what I need to lose by then even with the sporadic cheat days. We shall see. I have stopped worrying about it, if I am this weight when I get married so be it!! I want to try but not obsess anymore. I am who I am and FH loves ME.

That's 100% the most important thing!

I've been having the same mentality lately. When I first started I would go to the gym 5x per week and be really strict with what I ate. I always had a cheat day in there somewhere b/c I just don't have the will power to go cold turkey on my beloved carbs lol. But lately if I get to the gym 2-3x per week I'm ok with that. I'm trying to be less obsessed with numbers and more about finding a way that I can incorporate being active and healthy with still enjoying an occasional splurge and not feeling guilty! I don't think I could maintain such a strict lifestyle so I'm still trying to figure out a good way to balance everything and be healthy in a way that works for me.

Same. FH went running Sat morning had a healthy breakfast but then we went to Great South Bay brewery and did a tasting. It was a good thing at least I worked out and ate healthy. I am sure I gained the .2 lbs I lost this week lol. Fh was unmotivated to work out with me yesterday we had a vendor apt to sample favors, then went out east to some more breweries and ate out. It's a good thing we did a little bit of walking. Back on it today and going running after work.
