Sooooo, I successfully avoided this thread for long enough. Lol. I tried on dresses for the first time last weekend and while they're flattering for the most part, I can't deny any longer that I need to get my a$$ in gear.

started going to the gym yesterday.i HATE the gym!! LOL. i joined retro fitness in carle place/westbury, since they also have a location near our home in NJ. sighhhhhh.
I HATE the gym too. The only time going to the gym worked for me is when I had a gym buddy and we took the classes together. The gym I belong to now doesn't offer classes and all my friends live too far :(

Love this! I'm working out at home cause with the wedding we do not have the extra funds for a gym membership. I follow a couple of sites for motivation and workouts. One I actually was introduced to on this thread and I love. Theberry.com
http://theberry.com/2014/01/08/daily-motivation-25-photos-353/
Seriously if you are lacking motivation one day check it out.
http://www.lucilleroberts.com/blog/category/lr-werkout-of-the-day
I do the workout of the day to supplement my regular workout program.
http://shrinkingjeans.net/2013/12/squat-pushup-bootcamp/?printthis=1&printsect=1
And I do the workout challenge of the month from Shrinking Jeans.
I definitely find these helpful cause you don't need a gym to do them. I also have 2 of my bridesmaids and my friend hold me accountable to them cause I have to check in with them when I complete my workouts.

I LOVE Theberry.com!! I think i was the one to share the daily motivation on here. It's my favorite way to start the day. Thanks for sharing all these awesome links!! Will totally add these to my routine :)

measured myself yesterday .... since purchasing my gown and being measured in september, i lost 2 inches in my bust, and a half an inch in both my hips and my waist. not gonna lie, i thought i lost more in my waist, but i definitely look less thick now than i did ... looking back at old pictures is the best way to see progress!

Re: 2014 Brides 'Official Weight Loss & Keep It Off' Thread
I think this is such a great idea. I am recently engaged and have struggled with my weight my entire life, so getting rid of the excess fat before the wedding will probably be the biggest challenge.I have tried every diet, and fad diet out there including Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, NutriSystem, shakes, no carbs, and tons and tons of diet pills. In all honesty, the only diet method that has worked for me is to watch (and think) about what I am putting in my body. A strict diet of no fat, no carbs, no sugar, nothing white, gluten free, no diary is nearly impossible to stick to, and on the days when you fall off the wagon (because it happens to all of us) you really fall. Like the time I ate half a chocolate cake, which I rationalized by telling myself that I had already fallen off the wagon that day and I could just get right back on tomorrow....
In my opinion, the only method short of sewing my mouth shut (which I did think about [just kidding though])is to eat things in moderation. For example, I had mashed potatoes last night, but I only had like 3 bites, and not 3 potatoes worth. I am just going to be sensible with what I eat, and hope that it continues to pay off.
Realistically, I have a lot (and i mean a lot) of weight to lose before the wedding. The first thing I did was go out, find a dress, and order it 3 sizes smaller than I would normally wear. My goal is that I will still have to have that dress made smaller (easier to make it smaller than bigger, right?)
Anyway, so far, I am down about 11lbs since my engagement. I want to try to lose like 100lbs before the wedding. Is it doable, yes. Will it happen, who knows!
I wish all of you the best of luck, and will keep y'all updated!

That's awesome congrats on your weight loss! It definitely helps when you moderate your portions. I now actually measure out and weigh my food. Before I would just eye ball it up and guess that would be a serving. I looked up the actual serving sizes of the things I eat and measure it out. I also am eating clean cause for me my body responds better and feels better on a clean diet. Just stick with it and if your having a bad day getting the motivation think of your dress. You got this.

Any weight watchers doing the simple start? I have done it for a week now and I definitely feel healthier, but I feel like I am eating too much! Just finished a big bowl of whole wheat pasta...too good to be true?

So I just officially signed up for my first Zombie Mud Obstacle 5k! Whoo so stoked to do this and its a few days before my birthday so I am committed no refunds to do this get in the best shape of my life before the wedding. So I was on such a runners 5k high yesterday I decided why stop with one. So I just signed up for 2 more 5ks the Bubble Palooza in June and the leukemia and lymphoma pineapple run in April. So I have 1 5k per month from Arpil to June and I started looking up some to do for each month leading up to the wedding. I'm super excited cause I am doing 1 charity obstacle 5k, 1 super fun one, and one I have always wanted to do but to chicken to do it cause the zombies, mud, and obstacles. If I don't end up being an athlete in good shape by the time the wedding rolls around I don't know what will lol.
