3 reception halls-looking for opinions

As you said...it is my taste...as Park Avenue as it may seem to you.

Those placces are much further out on the island than I was willing to or have my guest travel. My comments were in no way to insult you or anyone else. If you are looking to start another bickering match...you are barking up the wrong tree. I will not acknowledge you further.

Tee is so great. Isn't her shop WONDERFUL!!! How are you decorating? She has GREAT ideas!!! It will look so beautiful around Christmas. What a great time of the year.

Rachel a lot of your comments come across snippy. Go back and read some of them. The way you wrote your message to Bob seems that we are all cheapos out here on Long Island. There are many places in Nassau that will do better than 125/130 a person. That is NOT the average price. It is for someone who goes for it Personally, I think it's pretty silly to pay $125.00 a head when your people are going to eat just like our people and have great music, etc. The food all comes from the same animals and if the place has a great reputation, it will be fine. It's not all about the decorations/food/etc. It's about marriage and doing what you can afford in a decent place. It shouldn't be showy. Anyone who over-spends on their wedding will regret it later. Everyone I know who has been married within the last 2 years says "I WISH I SHOPPED AND I WISH I NEVER SPENT SO MUCH"

To each her own. Here we go again with the bickering. I will check back in a couple of weeks to see if you have grown up.

Has anyone had any dealings with Flowerama in Elmont. I saw a dress there that I liked but wondered if they were reputable.

Your advice is too expensive for me. Don't need you checking in on me. Don't have your taste -- obviously materialistic, and don't want it.

This chatroom cat fighting

What is the deal with people posting b*tchy comments here??? Everyone's choice of where they have their wedding and every single detail is just that - a choice, a personal choice. So what purpose does it serve to come on here and find it necessary to bash other women's personal choices? The real purpose of posting here (it needs to be reiterated) is to share information on services, opinions on vendors, good or bad experiences, in an attempt to HELP one another. To everyone out there: to thine own self be true and perhaps try to show some kindness and kinship with your fellow brides to be.

IT'S BEAUTUFL. THE WEDDINGS ARE LOVELY. THE FOOD IS GOOD. AND EVERYONE SEEMS TO HAVE A GREAT TIME. I THINK THE PRICES ARE FAIR. CHECK WITH THEM ON THE NUMBER OF GUESTS. I BELIEVE THEY HAVE A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT.

Just curious as to why you'd want all three from one source.

I think Bob was trying to help

I believe Bob was trying to help and seems to have a little knowledge about catering halls. He offered some savings information for the brides on here and he sort of was knocked down by people who are paying more. I think his message had some really good information. I don't believe he offended anyone. I'm sure other brides on here will take his information and check it out. That's why were here right? Anyway, if you read the above messages, I think he got a little bit of a smack for offering his opinion which looked okay with me and non-offensive. Just my opinion. By the way Bob, I agree with you. I think you can get good prices if you talk with the hall and work it out together.

My sister ordered the bridesmaids dresses from them when she got married a year and a half ago. They made us wait a long time before we could look at dresses( even with an appointment.) It was a hassle to get a fabric sample from them but, the dresses came in plenty of time before the wedding.

They tried to order a dress that was two sizes too large for me (I know the dresses run small but give me a break I'm not that stupid). I had to insist on them ordering the size I wanted. Luckily I was right, otherwise the alterations necessary would have been like making a new dress. I think they did that to try to get more money by making it a plus size dress.I ended up having my dress altered elsewhere because they wanted to do the first fitting the week of the wedding.
