9/19 Review - Jericho Terrace w/ amature pics
Everything went wonderfully with only very minor hiccups (like forgetting the marriage license at the hotel....thank goodness for family members!) The weather could not have been better. On with the review!Vidalia's Fashions - Seamstress C- - I bought my dress from a store in Indiana before moving out to NY, so I had to find a private seamstress. I chose Vidalia b/c she was so close to my apartment and had convenient hours...I should have kept looking. At my first fitting, she got makeup on the upper right hand corner of my dress. She went on to deny it was her and insisted it had been there before. Almost in tears, I told her that I would be going somewhere else, but she calmed me down and promised to get it out. Well, it was still there 3 months later, not been touched. I was so angry, but it was too late to go somewhere else at that point. I told her if it was still there when I came to pick it up (the Thurs before the wedding) I would not pay for my alterations. Luckily, it was gone...but the stress was unbelievable.
Royal Brass - Pre/Ceremony Trumpets - A- - My only complaint was that I had called and talked to the owner about which song I wanted for the unity candle ceremony. The morning of, I overheard the same person ask my father which song we wanted for it 'because we had never told them what we wanted.' My father had to find DH and ask him about 10 min. before walking down the aisle which song it was.
Flowers by Burtons - personal flowers - A++ - I could not have been happier - delivered on time, perfect flowers, not one was wilting, everything was as ordered. Perfect. Highly recommend them. I worked with Jill.
Silverfox - Videography - A - He came earlier than he was required to do to catch both DH and I arriving. He also stayed later than required to catch the receiving line (we only paid for the ceremony to be videotaped). He was great - made sure everything was right.
Silverfox - Photography - A - We had two photographers, photojournalistic and regular. They were great. They came early to catch some pics of me getting ready. They made me feel very relaxed and even helped me into my dress when my mom and sister were having problems doing up the buttons in the back. Then the bridesmaids accidentily forgot to take the all the flowers for the guys with them, so the photographers put them in their car for me. Only a couple of complaints -I had taken in several pics that I had found online that I wanted, and only a couple of them were actually taken. Our only other complaint is that our package included the main photographer for 10 hours, which would have lasted beyond the time the reception ended, but he left about an hour before it ended. Most pics were taken, but since we had paid for that time, we were a little dissapointed that he left. The proofs are not done yet, so when they are I will complete the review.
Oksana & Jen - Hair and Makeup - A++ - I could not have been happier. Both were on time and did a fabulous job. Even the photographer said that they had done a great job. They made me feel so comfortable and put me at ease the entire morning.
Fantasy Limos - A++ - Amazing! We ordered a regular Lincoln limo for DH + family, and a BMW X5 stretch limo showed up!! I had the Rolls Royce. Both drivers were great - helpful to get everyone in the car and to the location on time. Both cars were very clean, plus the Mercedes we had for after the reception and to the airport the next morning. I highly recommend them. They did great work! They also picked my cousin up from the airport in a limo when I ordered him a town car. I called to thank the owner, Felix, and he said that they send a nicer car than ordered if it is available that day. !!
USA Disc Jockey - Cocktail hr and Reception - A - Anthony the owner is great. He was also our MC. He is not in your face and kept the reception going strong, even though it was an afternoon wedding. Our only complaint was that the songs we had requested to be played before the BM and FOB speech were not played. Everything else was great.
Garden City Hotel - Night of Wedding - A- - Nothing was bad, I was just not impressed for how much we were paying...the rooms felt small and just...normal. They did keep calling me Mrs. though, which I liked
Wingate Hotel - Night before/Morning of Bridal Suite - A++ - I loved it there! The room is HUGE - enough room for myself and three bridesmaids to get ready - including 2 photographers, hair/makeup people, mom, sister all in the room and it was not crowded at all. I had booked rooms for out of town guests there, so got a discount on the bridal suite. All the guests commented on how nice the rooms are (even regular rooms are huge). They handed out my OOT gift bags for me - I was very happy. I worked with Jessica.
Last, but not least...Jericho Terrace - Ceremony & Reception - B+ For the most part, everything went well. Everyone has been raving for weeks about the food. My father said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had (and he is hard to please...) The Bridal Attendants were extremely helpful and were with me the entire day making sure I was ok. They helped with the bustle and got me food and drinks, etc. They also brought everything down from the bridal suite for me after the reception and put it in a safe place to be picked up. The wait staff were great - always on hand. The bar tenders in particular were constantly asking people if they needed anything and the main bar tender stayed close to the bridal table and refilled as son as he saw a low drink. The ceremony room and reception room (Penthouse) were set up beautifully. A few things - Nothing I am going to mention below was noticed by any of the guests.
1. We had been told that we were the only morning wedding, no other bride would be there, but we could not enter until 10am b/c of maintenance. When we arrived, not only was there another bride there, but she had been there for a family tea session before 10am. She was in our way for pics (we found out her wedding was actually a few hours after ours...when our photographer tried to make her leave the reception area so we could take pics, it was too chaotic and I said to forget it).
2. We were told we could have a receiving line outside of the ceremony room as people were leaving, but as we left the ceremony room, our maitre'd and Chad the BM there, were rushing us out and shoving us into the cocktail room. My DH got into an argument with them trying to explain that we were told we could have the receiving line there. They just kept saying 'Ok, please go to the cocktail room, we have another wedding in here.' We just felt rushed and annoyed that they did not follow through on their promises.
3. We were supposed to have tea candles surrounding our centerpieces - none of them were put out.
4. Literally seconds before walking down the aisle, the maitre'd and bridal attendants were in a panic after DH noticed that the ring bearer's pillow and flowers for the ceremony that we had dropped off were not there. They ran over to me asking ME where they were...I said we dropped them off with the other items at our final appointment 10 days earlier. The bridal attendant ran off and thankfully found them, but again, undue stress minutes before heading down the aisle that should have been taken care of. Overall, I would say it went pretty well and again, none of the guests noticed these things, but it is dissapointing when you are paying them so much money.
I hope this is helpful for everyone. You can FM me with any questions. I have put a few amature pics below. Enjoy!

Thank you everyone
Kriss2c - Yes, my DH is in the process of writing our BM a long letter of complaint on the issues I raised above. I will keep you all updated on the results...It is too bad they force you to pay the entire remainder of the bill before the wedding - it really does not give you two legs to stand on.
