A Funny Book for SOME Brides....
I just started reading 'Diary of A Mad Bride' by Laura Wolf & I couldn't put it down! It has to be the funniest book I've ever read & it something all brides can relate too! My best friend and I are getting married a couple months apart & she too bought the book to read and we were amazed how much we could relate to in her book!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone who is getting married, it's well written and her footnotes are too funny (they are the best part of the book)!!!
:
Has anyone else read this yet????

I read that book! I found it on accident in B&N one day. I could not put it down, I finished it in 2 days. I think everyone should totally read the book.

Re: A Must Read Book for ALL Brides ....
I read it but I thought it was just 'eh'...I think the main character in this book really is mad, not just wedding related crazy. And I don't think many of us can relate to her wedding. But its a quick read.

Re: A Must Read Book for ALL Brides ....
I thought it woudl be better as well. The story was totally unrealistic for a NY wedding.

Re: A Must Read Book for ALL Brides ....
I will have to pick it up from the library and see what I think of it. You ladies sound like the back of books they way you gae those reviews...
Stef, the author is not putting your review on the back of her book

I also read this book and loved it. It was recommended to me by someone who isn't engaged but knew I was and thought I would enjoy it, and I loved it!

Unrealistic, but funny none the less. I read it in a weekend and thought that some parts of it were very cute.

Re: A Must Read Book for ALL Brides ....
That book was GREAT!!! I read it in like one night and I was laughing hysterically. I think that parts were somewhat realistic, but I thought it was funny that in the beginning she was making fun of her friend, and by the end she is more nuts than her! I just got engaged and I can already see how that could happen!!!

Re: A Must Read Book for ALL Brides ....
Some people take life way too seriously, I thought this was a funny book, never said it was up there with Shakespeare. I thought it was funny and it made it seem like some of the things she went through, SOME of us have too. Like her parents inviting all those guests, the majority of guests we have were given to me by my MIL. Also inviting guests with their 'Flavor of the week,' I'm sure some of us have gone through that too. I'm sure some of it was made up (who could even think of getting married in NYC for $5000?!) But it's silliness was supposed to make light of how some brides just get so consumed with our wedding plans that we forget to remember it's supposed to be fun as well!

I understood the tone of the book was comedic, I just didn't find it very funny.I don't think it means I 'take life too seriously' just because I don't agree with your assessment.

Re: A Must Read Book for ALL Brides ....
true, sorry, didn't mean to offend, I understand not everyone is going to agree with me, everyone has different tastes in books, music, movies, etc... I respect your critique & the last thing I want is to offend anyone, especially over something so petty so I apologize. I shouldn't have said it's a book all brides can relate to, just some of us.

Re: A Must Read Book for ALL Brides ....
Thank you for your apology. No harm done, no hard feelings on my end.Oh, and it wasn't necessary for you to change your title - I did buy the book myself was entertained for a few days so its not like I tell brides NOT to read it. I just though it was overhyped b/c so many people had told me it was so great.
