A new thread - the STUPIDEST comments you have gotten from ppl about YOUR wedding...

some of these are really funny i esp love the cat comments...

some are just rude like the e-party being a scame for money...

i have had some comments and i just let them roll off me...its mine and fh day so it will be our way

::insert name of tactless buffoon here:: 'What will your married name be?

me: 'I don't plan to change it'

::insert name of tactless buffoon here:: 'Really? (scrunched nose and furrowed brow) Why? Don't you want to have the same last name as your children?'

me: 'Well, my father died when I was little, so I'm hesitant to give up my maiden name.'

::insert name of tactless buffoon here:: 'Oh.' (followed by awkward silence)

hmm I'm only a few months engaged but I got a couple :

1- To FH about my dress choice color: Tell her she cant do gold because it's a christmas color and she needs to pick a more appropriate color, besides some of the girls may not look good in gold.

~ First of all it's a darker shade of champagne and all the girls will look good in it!! And it's a winter wedding gold is okay!


2- Why would you pick a winter wedding people aren't even going to bother to come now.

~Uh yea they will it's mostly immediate family and closest friends they'll all come

3- (my fav) only 150 people? guess you really dont want to make any money off of this one

I didn't know weddings were a fundraising event!!!

My Aunt: 'Why don't you get Silk Centerpieces so your cousins can reuse them when they get married?

FMIL: Why don't you pick an upbeat wedding song so you two can do a routine and he can lift you in the air?

My other aunt: You really need to start taking care of your eye brows now that you're getting married....

Co-worker: It is really inconvenient that you're having your wedding so close to the holidays, people will be really poor. (this guy isn't even invited!)

I got a comment from my grandmother (love her dearly, but...) She wanted to know why we just dont have our wedding at the same place my sister had her wedding. Smithtown is sooo far (20 mins from my house)
Uhhmmmm- b/c I'm not planning my wedding around my lush of an uncle who lives 2 blocks from my sister's RH. CALL A FREAKING CAB!! (they are getting a towncar- smart move)

And- why are you spending soo much money on a wedding- you will never make it back and never be able to buy a house? Its not a money making event, we will get something back obviously and we will be fine with buying a house in the future- Don't worry about us) (id ppl are so concerned, they are welcome to deposit cash into my bank account )

FFIL: You should have a band instead of a DJ.
Us: You should pay! Oh, no, on 2nd thought - we prefer a DJ.

FFIL- I like the CH before the ceremony.
US: Tough noogies- you can wait a half hour b/c we want to be at our CH and dont want to eat and get messed up before the ceremony.

Random ppl have said 'oh, why do you need a tiara'

Me: I dont NEED anything-I WANT one. (I ended up changing my mind on it b/c i changed my hairstyle.



Luckily I havent had any cat's invited..lol

wow, reading these comments make me realize that EVERYONE runs their mouth off!

I think the snarkiest was when a woman in a jewelry store kept making comments about my earrings (i have gauged tunnels... yea like those big holes that go all the way through) and how 'they'll be so ugly' and I said I already bought earrings and she responded 'good thing because you could never wear those' all the while looking towards my mom for backup who after about having them for 8 years just rolled her eyes at this lady

Me: I want my hair down and in loose curls.
Hairdresser: You don't want that! You want to look like a fairy tale princess with your hair up and a tiara!

Uhhh.... NO.

Annoying Person: Why did you go so low end and register at Bed Bath and Beyond? You should have registered at Tiffany's.
Me: I have a lot of friends who are struggling artists and BBB has lots of price options. Plus I need a coffee maker and a microwave and a vacuum cleaner not china.
Annoying Person: Well they have nice candy dishes at Tiffany's.

Right, so when I need to clean my carpet I will just break out my Tiffany candy dish.

hmmmm.. random parent at my school. whose daughter i taught three years ago...

random parent: wow.. ms. C.. u look glowing.. as usual..

me: oh my thank u ms. A..

ms. a.. wait what's that on u'r hand.. is that.. r u.. oh my goodness u are!! u'r getting married!!

me: yep.. yes i am.. (smiling hard.. like i always do when i think bout marryin that man... )

ms. a: so when's the wedding

me: oh it's in feb..


ms. a: well here let me give you my address right now so u can mail me my invite. because oyu know.. i will be there in the front row cheering u on.. (she actually took a pad and wrote down her address)


apparently my wedding is also being billed as meet the teacher night..

My Boss: (when he found out I got engaged) -'She sandbagged us!' OUTLOUD to many Co-workers and clients! how embarrassing and childish!! I was hired when I wasn't engaged and got engaged in the in-between period so when I started my first day I was already engaged.

My Boss: Don't get married it's such a waste of money. I dread the day my daughter gets married...b/c I have no money saved up for that.

My Boss: Oh so your parents' didn't have a traditional wedding what are your parents hippies?? total hypocrite!

FMIL: You're wearing the engagment ring on the wrong hand you wear it on your right hand and than move it to your left once you're married.

FMIL: Comment while family members were complementing my ring - me: 'Yeah he did a really good job FH designed the ring all on his on!' - NO HE DIDN'T screetch in the backround from FMIL... uhh who asked you!

The lady at the dress store when my dress was a whole size too small

me: 'its too small, its a 2 not a 4 like I wanted'

At my Bridal Shower, there was a little game in which everyone wrote down a bit of advice for me on a heart-shaped piece of paper...

...I got home later that day and read through them all and this is what my FMIL had to say:

'You can always come home . Be nice to each other.'





She later claimed it was a 'joke.' Haha very funny.

I'm not making a donation OR giving a favor. Maybe I'm stingy.
Most of the comments are from my mother:

1. Ivory? Won't the dress look dirty?

2. OK, so my parents' house (where I grew up) is on the same little waterway as the RH...so I thought it would be awesome if my dad rowed me to the ceremony....how cool would that be??? My mom's response: 'This will NOT be a CIRCUS!' I've decided that Circus is my new wedding theme, and FH will wear a red nose down the isle, and I will wear a rainbow wig.

I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now.

I love the 'when are you getting engaged?' one - hilarious!

lol spearking of fundraiser... a friend of mine said to me... well remember ppl are expect to give atleast $100 a person for the wedding.... so invited you'll make it back...

FMIL on the wedding song I'd like to use: You can't use this, it's not a wedding song. You need something else. This is not a wedding song.
