I thought it might be good to start our own thread. We're all in the same boat, and we can help each other find things we need, vent about issues, support each other's diets.
Anyone interested?

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides
Hello. I wanted to introduce myself to this thread. I got engaged on August 19th and am so overwhelmed. I am from Lindenhurst and I am considering Riviera and CLM. I will have a small wedding. (about 80 guests) I would like to be married in 2006. My FH and I are both teachers and I would like to have a fall wedding. Is October a big month for weddings? Can I find something reasonable during that time? Did anyone go back to live with their parents to save money for the wedding?

I am getting married at Chateau La Mer and I've been very happy with everything so far. I think October is a popular month but you can probably still find something reasonable if you choose a weekend day over a Saturday night.

OMG- I love this thread! I have a question. I haven't started dress shopping yet and I plan to start in a couple of weekends. I'm afraid that they won't have any dresses my size to try on. Does the place in Commack have size 18 to try? Also, what should I where when I go? I mean is it okay to go with a regulat bra? I don't own a strapless? Also, I plan on wearing stockings at my wedding- should I wear stockings to go shopping?

Sorry I don't know anything about booking in October but I wanted to add that- you got engaged on my negative one year anniversary! Congratulations!

Commack Wedding Center did have a bunch of plus sized wedding dresses to try on. When I went I wore just my regular bra and underwear. I don't think it made a difference. HTH

I went to Lillette's and did not plan on trying anything on..they had corsettes for me to use so that was great. I know Lillette's has plus size line..I am getting my dress from RK Bridal and they have a ton of stuff from all different designers... I am getting married at the Riviera and FH and I fell in love with it. We have having a very small wedding and played with dates and got a great price for April. If you are open minded with dates see what the best price is. If you need any other info FM me and GOOD LUCK! Cara

Hello and welcome!!! Congratulations on your engagement (this is such a fun time). DH and I are teachers and got married in October (a great month for fall weather and fall colors). I believe the highest month range for prices is between May and September. You should be ok for October. DH and I were both living with our parents before we got married so we were able to save money. I hope this thread helps you with any worries or troubles you might encounter while planning your wedding!!!
