A thread just for PlusSize Brides

Original post by aimerliny

I thought it might be good to start our own thread. We're all in the same boat, and we can help each other find things we need, vent about issues, support each other's diets.

Anyone interested?

Melissa,
You were barefoot the entire time?

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides

CaCRmr,
The reason I want to be barefoot is that I grew up on a farm, and never wore shoes, ever, except for school and stuff. I love to be barefoot, I'm a country girl for sure, and it reminds me of being on the farm with my family. Since my mom and dad have both passed away, it's just something special for me to do, it reminds me of when I was little and they were still here. Thats all. I will have to photograph the exact ones that I'm going to wear, I think they're much prettier. I'll do it this weekend if I can find the time. Two weeks til the wedding and still so much to do!!! And I work full time and go to school four nights a week, tight schedule.

except for the ride from the hotel to the hall. My mother was insistent I wear shoes, so just to shut here up I put them on so she could see, then once I got to the hall and into the bridal suite, off they came!

Beautiful!!

I also bought my dress at David's, but had some trouble with ordering the right size. The consultant insisted I order the gown a size bigger than I thought I should, and guess what? It was huge when it came in, so we had to send it back and get the size I originally wanted to order. I didn't have it altered at David's though, I went to a private seamstress and I'm very happy with it.

I do not like my arms. Does anyone know where I can get a wrap that slips on... not a bolero jacket. I have seen them before at a wedding and I should have asked them where they got them. The bride and the BM had them. Thanks!

Now my next issue is ordering the wedding dress, I've been holding out but now it's crunch time they expect me to lose another 50 pounds by the new year and then i'm having a tummy tuck and arm tuck, so I don't know what size to order

Jen, if you don't mind me asking, but has your insurance covered all of this?

Do you know what dress you are getting for the wedding? Post a picture!

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides

I have Oxford, and so far they seem more with it, than most other insurances, but since the plastic surgeon I am using is out of Oxford, they are only paying 80%. It takes alot of documentation, like rashes and if it affects your ability to move or excersise properly.

But they did approve my revision and my hernia repair on the first try.

As for dresses I think I found the one, I am just nervous about ordering it.. here it is

But I also like this one too

Very pretty. I love the second one.

Jen, that's great that most everything you have had to do is covered by your insurance. I've heard horror stories where only the gastic surgery is covered, and then the patient is left to pay for all of the other surgeries. You're making such great progress, you should be very proud of yourself! You are certainly an inspiration to all of us!

Now onto your dresses...BOTH are gorgeous, but I have to say, I definetly favor #2...something about the cut and style is very classic and flattering and I love the detail.

Have you tried them both on? You should fashion show them to us and we can help you choose. =)
