me too!!!!!! my FH and i met through my mom. but i was a size 9 and throught out the relationship i went back and forth from a size 24 and then back to a 14 and then i got pregnant. now i am a 22 again and really hoping to lose weight before i pick a dress.

Just and FYI I read that Kliendfelds Bridesmaids loft has dresses to try on in all different size ranges!

Just wanted to let you girls know... I went to Lillettes in Baldwin and they had so many dresses to try on!!!!

I also went to Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook... and they had a ton too!!!

I was so excited!!!

Lillettes has no BM dresses for plus sized BM to try on. Or - maybe 1. But they do have lots of wedding dresses I heard!

I tried dresses on (bridal)

At Lillettes and Beautiful Bride.

Go try them on... its a totally different feeling...

That is so funny I just heard today that beautiful brides and Lillette's are the best to shop for plus size wedding dresses. Starting to shop this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like this thread has been dead ofr a few months..but I'll give it a shot anyway...

I'm a plus-sized bride and am DREADING trying on dresses next month. I am mostly worried about my arms because I really want to go strapless but my arms are huge and flabby I was thinking of maybe getting a lace bolero or something to cover up incase I don't feel like showng off the flab...anyone else have this problem? What did you do, just suck it up or cover up?

Hey don't let anyone keep you down. Personally I'm proud to be a plus size. Here is a picture of myself on my wedding day.

I was also very worried about trying on dresses. But I went to Lilettes and they had a nice assortment of plus sized dresses to try on. My Maggie Sottero dress had the option of coming with a wrap so you may want to look into that because then you could wear or not wear as you wanted.

this thread hasn't been BUMPd in awhile! glad to see it up top. i think a lot of brides don't know it's here...so remember...plus sized girls, add this one to your notebook and bump it not and again,.

can't wait to post some pics next month...i'm plus sized and my MOH is wearing a Bill Levkoff gown, and she's plus sized too.

I was thinking of going to Beautiful Brides in lynbrook, so i am glad to hear they have a lot to try on in plus sizes. I am dreading going to try a dress on because i am so afraid they wont have anything in my size. Two dress styles i saw and liked are carried at Beautiful Brides which is why i was going there. Thanks for the great heads up!

You might be surprised with the dress sizes. I thought I was going to be an 18 but turned out to be a 16 dress, 14 slip. Which I'm looking to sell incidentally, so if anyone is interested, FM me...

I didn't want to plan on losing weight to fit into the dress, but I misjudged something - I originally tried my wedding dress on without a full bra. By the time it came in, I had lost 15 pounds and was able to wear the dress with the bra without a problem. Lucky me!

Just something to consider when getting a 'true' size for your gown.

I don't know about Beautiful Brides but you can always call them and ask them if they carry plus size dresses to try on. I went to Lillettes in Baldwin and they had a ton of plus sized dresses to try on.
