Re: a wedding without valet parking ...?

i'm not a huge fan of valet parking, but i think people might think less of your wedding if you don't have it, unfortunately

I would speak to the BM and tell her your concerns. I think that avoiding valet parking isn't the way to go, personally I expect it at weddings. I would make sure they correct the problem for you.

We're not having valet parking. It costs extra and we didn't feel like we needed it..the parking lot is right next to the building.

Im sure you could go either way and be totally fine - personally I'm a fan of valet.

One thing to consider - (here's to you definitely having a gorgeous day!!!!!!!) but on the slight chance of bad weather - the valet might come in handy for your guests. Just a thought...

But the people they had at the show case will not come close to your wedding...unless ur having around 500 people. noone I know had issues with Valet that I came with and we had 3 cars i guess they got overwhelmed with such a large gorup of people.

i went to WCC's showcase last week and had a HORRIBLE experience with their valet parking. i absolutely refuse to use that same valet company at my wedding ... do you think i should find a diff valet company, or just not have valet at all?

personally, i hate valet ... i think most people do ... am i right?

ps: my BM was out of the office when i called, but i will be speaking with her about this tomorrow at some point.

Thanks

I will say that I've been to WCC several times while two events were going on and this is the only time something like this happened. While it is a concern, I do plan to mention it, but still opt for valet. I cannot see this happening again, especially since they are already aware of this. I don't think a Valet is necessary for this venue, but preferable for some people (not us, but some guests may want it).

ITA---I dont like valet parking. Not a fan of having a stranger drive/park my car, but thats my personal opinion. I dont like coat check either though...but these are things you kind of need. Its kind of silly, but some people expect it at a wedding and might see it as you cheaping out if you dont have it. I would talk to your BM.

ITA. An ex-boyfriend of mine used to work valet, and they used to beat the crap out of the cars and search thru the cars to see what they could steal. And when I went to the Meadow Club for a show case (we parked ur own car) The valets were screwing around with ppl's cars and almost smashed them, and I saw a few going thru the ppls cars. So in my opinion, NO, I would rather NOT have valet.

i wasn't upset by the fact that they were slow .... they left my car key on top of my car...! it could have gotten stolen! and frankly, it left a horrible taste in my mouth about WCC (if that was a wedding i went to, i'd only remember how awful the valet was, not how wonderful the wedding itself was)

we'll see what WCC says when i speak with them later on today

it depends; i like the idea of having someone take my car; but at the end of the night i like to walk right to my car and not have to wait in like for it to come around. If you're not happy with the service-i wouldn't use it with them. Maybe look into another service or just scrap the idea all together.

I think you should speak with your BM and address the situation. I would be very surprised if I had to park my car and walk through the parking lot (and would be complaing out loud -most likely)

I know it was a MESS. They couldn't find my friend's keys -> left on her windshield as well. We were highly upset. Meeting with BM today and will discuss it as well. I'll keep you posted.

Re: a wedding without valet parking ...?

At WCC the parking is really close and obvious, so I don't think it's a problem to not have it, BUT I completely expect valet parking at weddings and like a PP want my car brought to me at the end of the night. I honestly would never have even considered not hvaing valet (although my hall has its own garage, so I don't think I could eliminate it fi I wanted to). Are they taking $$ off?

Re: a wedding without valet parking ...?

I hate valet. I don't like the idea of people I don't know driving my car. My hall includes it and I don't know why. The parking lot is directly in front of the entrance, and I think there are enough spots for my wedding. Valet is necessary when the lot is too small (they park the cars in such a way they need to move other cars to get one out) or too far from the entrance (like down the road on another piece of property).
Now as for high heels......my thoughts are ladies, get your man to drop you off directly in front and pick you back up there. And anyways, I never expect to sit the entire night at a wedding, I expect to be dancing and mingling, and not sitting in a chair so I should be able to walk a parking lot distance at least in them.

My hall doesn't have valet and I'm cool with it.

same with me... our RH is only one wedding at a time so the parking lot isnt huge.
