so is a year and a half too soon to start looking at vendors??? what do you think ?

NOT AT ALL!!!! we are getting married next June and started booking vendors in November of 2006. Now it is so nice becasue we are all booked and we got the vendors we wanted. The earlier the better.

no. get it out of the way, so you know how much $$$ you need to save.
This is the biggest thing for me. How are you supposed to know how much these things cost? I shopped around quite a bit to get an idea of what I'm going to be spending.
