Has anybody adopted a young dog recently? We had to put down our 9 yr-old cockerspaniel a couple of weeks ago because of cancer and now our second dog, Lucky a 3 year old is so lonely. Its so sad!! We wanted to look into adopting another dog but I'm not sure where to look. I've been checking pet finder and we might take a trip to North shore. Is there anyplace else I can try?

We got our dog from North Shore but here is some more info.
we got our cat many years ago at bide-a-wee. We had a terrible experience with North Shore Animal League, I would never go back there. I am also not a fan of Little Shelter, although I believe all animal shelters are doing a good thing.

I sent you an fm. What about animal haven in Queens?? Hempstead animal shelter is a kill shelter in LI. You can try them.

I'm sorry for the loss of your dog. I lost my dog last year, also cancer, I adopted her from North Shore ten years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. Good luck.

we got my kitty from Bide-A-wee they had pups there too
