Adrienne's Bridal

Original post by july05bride

I was wondering if this sounds right. I found two beautiful gowns at Adrienne's in Islip and asked who made the dresses. I mean BEAUTIFUL gowns!!! The saleswoman told me that it was a private designer who only designs for Adrienne's and one other bridal salon. She also said she did not know the designer's name, but in the shop the line was referred to as 'B2.' So, I went online and noticed that the maker of Jasmine gowns makes BM gowns called B2. Some of the Jasmine gowns were similar to the dresses I tried on, but not exactly the same.

Is something wierd going on here? Why won't they tell me who makes the dresses? I understand WHY, but this is frustrating!!

Dont worry about Adriennes! I dont personally like them because I didnt like the way I was treated BUT my friend got her dress there and was happy with the service!

As for B2, try Paradise Bridal in Patchogue its alittle farther out but they have all their dresses arranged by designer with all the tags still in them! We got ours from Bridal Garden and they were great and again all dresses had the tags!

Re: Adrienne's Bridal

At first, Adrienne's wouldn't tell me the name of the designer, even as I was making my deposit. Maybe because there's a 24 hour clause when you can still get out of the purchase. So I called a couple of days after placing my order and asked for the name of the manufacturer. That's when they told 2Be.

I was really persistant because 2Be wasn't on the Knot or anywhere and all I want is a picture of my dress, so they gave me a phone number to call. When I called, it was Mon Cheri. Very confusing.

So I kept putting 2Be into search engines until I finally stumbled on the website. Sure enough, the phone number on the 2Be website is the same one that Adrienne's gave me that turned out to be Mon Cheri.

But of course, my dress is not on the website, so I emailed the customer service asking for a picture. A few days later I got a response saying. Sorry, we dont give out pictures. It's all very annoying, but at least I feel comfortable that it's a real dress. Now, my only concern is that it will turn out to be discontinued. Maybe I'll email the company about that...

I asked Adrienne's for the majer of my veil too, but they keep insisting that it is 'designed just for them.' Yeah, whatever.

very interesting. 'Designed just for them' turned out to be a lie, if you ask me. The website you gave me says 2be sells dresses all over the country, not just Adrienne's and one other bridal shop. Oh well...

thanks for the insight!

Re: Adrienne's Bridal

I am SO shocked to hear anything bad about this boutique, my sisters wedding gown and BM dresses were from there this past may and they were awesome to us. Everyting was so easy and orgainizied. I loved them. I am so shocked, not saying your points are invalid because they obviously are, just shocked.

I had actually got my BM's dresses there. They were Vera Wang and the only reason why I had gone there for them is because I couldn't find any other Vera Wang dealers in Suffolk. My girls didn't have a very good experience there. The girls in the 'Maids Cottage' were not all that helpful to them. Every time that we would go there one of them would be on the phone and not even acknowldge any customers. When measuring my one BM they said that she needed a 14 because she a bit chesty. She kept telling them that if the sample is a size 8 and that is snug, why go to a 14??? A 10 fine.. maybe a 12 ... They insisted that her sizing is small (Vera). Long story short, the 14 came in (late no less) and she was swimming in it. They faught with her and told her that she lost weight since they measured her. Her alterations would have cost her $140 if she had them do it. Thank Goodness she has a Grandmother who is a seamstress and the whole situation was rectified.. with no help with Adrienne's.

Re: Adrienne's Bridal

Just for the record - I had a terrific experience with the saleswoman named Chris at Adrienne's. It was the most pleasant shopping trip of my whole search. It wasn't until I asked who the designer was that things got frustrating.

I just hope after all the scary stories that I heard that my dress comes in ok.

I'm still going to look there for bridesmaid dresses.

Re: Adrienne's Bridal

I have had no problem at Adrienne's- bought my wedding dress there and all alterations were fabulous.

My BMs had a VERY hard time with alterations and service at Bridal Couture.

I as a BM had a VERY hard time at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa with alterations/service.

I think it's widespread in the industry that the bride is treated WAY better than the BMs.

Sad, but true.

edited to say, designers DO design lines specifically for a boutique- for example, I know Amsale has a specific line that is ONLY sold by Kleinfeld... so it is possible that there is a dress designed to be sold ONLY at Adrienne's.

I didn't go to the bridal shop in front (I didn't have an appointment and they didn't let me in... no surprise there) BUT I did stop by the BM's shop, and the woman working there was wonderfully nice and helpful. I can't remember her name, unfortunately! Anyway, I'm just posting this to reassure brides who have ordered (or will order) from Adrienne's!

Re: Adrienne's Bridal

Try Bridal Suite of Bayshore. My sister got her wedding dress there, and I am getting my MOH dress from there for her wedding in september. They definately carry Jasmine! That is the desinger of the MOH dress that I am getting. They are beautiful!

I also recommend Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. That is where I got my wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses.

Or you could try Angel Bridal in Islip, it is on montauk highway next to boston market. I am not sure if they carry jasmine or not.

Good Luck on your search for dresses.^

I got my dress at Paradise bridals. They were great there. My consultant was Stephanie who was amazing. So helpful and patient. I haven't gotten my BM dresses yet but I know they carry B2 cause I was looking at them there. They actually have a really big selection there too.
