If you are going to the shower, then get a gift from the registry for that and give a check as a wedding gift (I wouldn't do more than $150).
If you're not going to the shower, then as a couple you and your hubby can get them a nice ($150-range) gift from the registry as a wedding gift.
I would not give $300 if you are not attending the wedding.

Re: ADVICE PLEASE!
I would either send a $150 check or something of equal value off their registry.

I agree with those who posted that you don't have to match the other couple's gift to you, since you aren't actually attending their wedding, and they're not among your closest friends. I also think you aren't obligated to give any particular amount: only to give within your own means.

Re: ADVICE PLEASE!
I would say $150-200.
If it was me, I would feel obligated to give $300, but I don't think that you should feel that way.

Definatly would give the same amount regardless. I always try to do the same . I know you cant make their wedding, but they went out of there way to attend yours. Whatever you decide to do is up to you, but I wouldnt NOT attend and give them less, it just doesnt feel right to me.
