so really!!! gotta vent. . last night we had flooding in our apartment . through the buildings air con system and not only is our floor destroyed but our BRAND new comforter and duvet and a quilt were ruined and we had JUST put them out! We have homeowners insurance but a 1000 deductible. .so it's all basically just gone. . not to mention a bunch of books, cds, clothes, electronic keyboard etc. . and they don't even replace stuff just say go get things cleaned and send us the bills and we might pay!
SERIOUSLY!!!! it just suc*s. . . and the woman at the insurance company says 'we don't cover cds b/c they are plastic and you should just wipe them off' I was like they are 'SITTING IN A POOL OF BROWN WATER!!!!'
ah whatever. .. what's another 1000 after paying for a wedding. .

A few days later we were resettled in another apartment in the complex they put him in temporarily while they rebuilt the building (which took 4 months) and we start to hear noises from the other room. Turns out the bouncing Tigger doll I'd gotten his nephew was starting to dry out... and was now playing the 'woohoo hoo hoo' over and over and over!!!! It was pretty funny.

That Tigger thing is totally making me crack up. Woohoo!!!!!
meara, I'm so sorry to hear what happened. I had a flood in my apartment about two-three years ago, and believe me, it was devastating. I didn't have enough damaged expensive stuff to justify the deductible, so I just lost about $500 worth of stuff. Luckily, my violin was on a table. . .if that would have gotten soaked, that would have been worth the deductible. And to top it off, my landlords only gave me $100 off of my next month's rent. . .yeah, I was happy when I got out of there.

actually now I found out I will have to move out of my apt for a week or so. . or out of the BR and bathroom at least. .. living room will be available but well filled with furniture!! they are trying to see if they can move usinto an empty apt in the meantime . .like just our bed and a dresser or something
well. . it will be like my first apt all over again. . no furniture, curtains, or anything. .well here's to an adventure!!! maybe we can just put up a tent and pretend we're camping!!
