Hey All-
Great news!: I finally got my wedding video (supervhs) yesterday afternoon from Det.Walker-but
bad news - the 'end' of my wedding was missing..
Get this- He called me this morning-he located it on another tape!!
This is craziness! What was Marc thinking, to randomly tape over tape, over tape...
I feel so awful for erased/taped over weddings!

On that subject- Is there a'Jennifer Ginsberg' out there, missing a tape? My sister's raw footage was double-labeled, and Jenn's name was on tape first, then scribbled out! I hope she got her good copy already.

Lastly- still no photos- we are trying to contact his sister again to locate them. All I can do now is hope!

Ladies, please make sure that you watch the whole tape...even fast forward to the end of the tape just to make sure. My sister is one of the only ones that has not gotten anything back so I would realllly appreciate that if you can.

It wasn't Ginsburg - they were both weddings. Ortez/Rodriguez and Dash/Jackson.

Hi, thankyou tracb13 for your info and number. I reached Gabe and he won't give me back my tape or even call the other couple for keeping their tape. He is not giving out the tapes unless Mark or someone pays him for the work!!! This is crazy. I'd like to get in touch with the other couple asap to see what we could do. The biggest problem is that Gabe is living in Florida now! Do you have a way to get info on Dash/Jackson???

Det. Walker was told about what happened with Gabe. He called Gabe himself. The outcome was that since he is in Florida he can't go after him. Also he said that he can't 'make' Gabe give the tapes back as evidence unless he gives them freely. Sick that this guy insists on making his money back!!!

I am so sorry that this guy Gabe is being more cooperative, but as he's an aquaintence of Mark it sadly doesn't surprise me. He should send you the tapes and go after Mark for the money. I could see him asking you to pay for the mailing, but anything else is not right. I understand he was tricked like the rest of us and wants to be paid for his trouble, but he could be reasonable with the money requests from you.

I thought that the arrangement with Det. Walker was Mark had to get ALL the tapes back in order to avoid prosecution? If these tapes are with Gabe, then Mark should pay him or he should go to trial. Maybe if Walker pressured Mark he'd tell his sister to pay Gabe to avoid staying in jail? Obviously, Mark knew all along the tapes were with Gabe but he never disclosed that (didn't he say when Fox confronted him that he had all the tapes?).

And why is everyone who knows Mark is fleeing town?! (Just an observation!)

This guy Gabe now called me and now wants to make a deal to edit my tape and send it to Det. Walker for me to view. With a charge of 500. of course. No baby pics or honeymoon. Just a plain, single edit. This guy had my number all along as well as my address to let me know he had my tape. As for Mark he has been telling me he had my tape and was going to mail it to me up until the day before he was arrested. The only thing I can think of is to get my tape from that SOB and continue to calll Det. Walker about gettinh my $$ back from Mark. It's a total looooong shot but that tape is so precious to us as well as memories of my grandma who just after passed away. I'm batty at this point guys!!!!

Hi, this is tracb13's husband. I think that I was the first person to speak to Gabe regarding this whole Videomaker mess. I got his name from Mark's sister who said that he may have done some weddings for Mark and may still have some tapes. I think that the Gabe-bashing of the previous few posts might be a little bit unwarranted.

When I first spoke to Gabe, he had NO IDEA that any of this was going on. The 7/13 weddings were the only two that he filmed for Mark. He had been trying to get in touch with Mark at several different phone numbers and addresses for the last few months. He had even sent the tapes to Mark C.O.D. but they were returned after 1-month in the post office with no one picking them up. Mark never paid Gabe anything for his time and supplies for that day. Mark never responded to Gabe in any way. Thus, Gabe has just been holding onto those tapes figuring someone would get in touch with him sooner or later.

I don't think that Gabe's move to Florida had anything to do with Mark. They were not in business together, I don't even think they were friends. It was a one-time job, and Gabe got screwed the same way the rest of us did. I don't think that Gabe has deliberately deceived anyone nor is he hiding from anyone.

When I asked Gabe which tapes he had, he gave me the names of both brides and grooms and the wedding dates. I gave him Det. Walker's phone number and suggested they get in touch. I also told him that I'd give Det. Walker his info and he welcomed that, as he would like this resolved as much as all of us.

As for Gabe being forced to hand over the tapes, I am not sure Det. Walker could make him do that even if he was in NY, other than trying to get a court order declaring the tapes as evidence against Mark. Gabe's only chance at getting paid for his work that day is to hold onto the tapes until Mark, or someone else, pays him for them. I can't blame him for taking that stance. And frankly, if it were me, after this whole mess, I'd be happy to pay Gabe for my tapes if he had them. I'd rather be out another $500 than have no tape of my wedding. And I'm sure that you can be added to Det. Walker's list of people Mark must reimburse.

Anyway, I hope you all cut Gabe some slack, because 1) there is no evidence of him having done anything wrong yet; and 2) he's the only shot those two couples have at getting their tapes back, so you might not want to slander and libel him too much.

So, does this leave me and tracb13 as the only couple whose tape is still missing?

Hi All, I have great news!!!! We got our tape back!!! We were one of the last couples to get it back. I was so ahppy for everyone when I heard they were getting their tapes and now I know how you felt. It is so exciting. Of course we cannot see it clearly due to the format, but who cares - it is in our possession! A huge, big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who helped get our tape and everyone else who supported us! End of the trail....

Hi, this is tracb13's husband again. Our wedding tape is one of the few that still remains missing.

In the last two weeks, I have spoken with Mark's sister, Det. Walker, Gabe, Frank the DJ, and the company that currently owns the house Mark was evicted from.

According to Mark's sister, who by the way has been very cooperative and helpful from my point of view, says that when Mark fled Long Island, he packed up his car and left everything that couldn't fit behind. She says that the bulk of his possessions, probably including the remaining missing videos and baby pictures, were left behind. She claims that she has searched the basement of her house, where Mark had been staying, and sent Walker every tape and picture she could find. I believe her and don't think she's holding any tapes back, as there is nothing to gain from it.

Immediately after Mark left, several people reported on this message board that Frank still had access to the house and was seen in the house. Indeed, Mark's sister confirmed this by saying that Frank took one of the televisions left behind.

According to the company which currently owns the house, by the time the then-owner had Mark evicted, there was virtually nothing left but garbage and some old furniture.

Frank vehemently denies having any tapes. He says he gave everything back to Mark. Other than that, Frank hasn't any info.

Gabe had a couple of videos and I think those brides have been identified and have hopefully worked somehting out to get their tapes from him.

So, assuming that my tape never made it to Buffalo, it must have been left behind in that house. That means it disappeared from that house sometime after Mark left. I'm going to assume Frank doesn't have it, because I don't see what reason he would have for keeping it, and even if he did, Walker considers this case closed and no one is going to help me get anything out of Frank anyway. Does this mean that it was just thrown out in the trash with the rest of his possessions? Who else could have pilfered that house?

Anyway, it seems that Walker and the Suffolk DA consider this case closed, as Mark pleaded guilty in court today and was sentenced to 4 months. He'll be out in 2 months, after taking into account time already served. Technically, he has a list of people that he is supposed to pay back within 3 years, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that $500 check to arrive.

So, does anyone think that Fox Problem Solvers has any interest in doing a follow up story? Can we get them to hassle Frank, the former homeowner/landlord? Would they criticize the DA for letting Mark get off so easy?

Whoever has the contact info for the person at Fox to talk to, please post it. And if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open to those too, as I think I've reached a dead end with all of my calling.
