So I have a circulation problem in my left leg. It causes my leg to ALWAYS be swollen. Therefore, I cannot wear heels..nothing over 1.5inches...and I am very limited in the shoes I can wear.
So I'm in a wedding in the summer. Yesterday the MOH calls me and says they all bought the shoes to go to Davids Bridal to get them. I look at the shoes online and its a 2inch peep toe shoe. Immediately I know that this shoe will not fit me, its just impossible with my condition. So I tell her this and now everyone is mad at me. I told them I'm not trying to be difficult but everyone knew of my condition when shopping for shoes.
NO you're not being difficult. Why do all the BMs have to wear the same shoe? Shouldn't they all just be the same color? She and the rest of the bridal party should understand your condition.
I would suggest to her letting the BMs wear that shoe and you picking out your own. I don't think anyone will really be noticing. The bride is being ridiculous if she is mad at you for this.

No. I don't think you're being difficult..
is your dress tea length?
and are your shoes going to be dyed? you may be able to find something very similar in a lower heel and then have it dyed the exact same color as all the other girls.. I'd definitely talk it over with the bride.. if shes not upset about you having a different shoe then it's all good.. if she is then i think you and the MOH should brainstorm something.. maybe only the MOH will have that shoe she likes and all the other BMs get a lower heel..
hope it works out!!

ITA - they were already aware of your condition and chose to overlook it when picking out the shoes. It's just shoes, not the BM dress - people probably won't even notice, especially if you got something similar in a lower heel/flat in the same color. You're not saying you don't LIKE them...you're saying that it's PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for you to wear them. Would she rather have you hobble down the aisle in obvious pain?

Re: Am I being difficult?
You are in NO way being difficult. You know how your legs are so you should wear whats best for your feet. Your going to be on your feet all day and want to be the most comfortable. She should be understanding about your situation. You should call her and talk to her about it again. After all she is your friend and should understand.

No you are not! Sounds like a Bridezilla! Why does she even care what the height of your shoes are!!Esp since you have a condition, they shouldn't even question your decision

Re: Am I being difficult?
you're not being difficult. I'm in a wedding in September and we are not wearing the same shoes.
If you're wearing a floor length dress, no one is going to see your shoes anyway.

You are not being difficult! It's not like you don't want to wear them because you don't like them or don't want to spend the money... it's because you have a medical condition. I am a Bridezilla and even I wouldn't care! Maybe you can do a search for a similar shoe with a smaller heel?

You are not being difficult at all! It's something that you physically cannot do. Maybe try explaining the condition again...

Re: Am I being difficult?
ur not being difficult at all. don't know why the girls will tell u about them if u can't wear them. i would just tell her i can't wear them and the u r going to get ur shoes else where. this is not something that she shouldnt understand.

Re: Am I being difficult?
it is very inconsiderate. What i would do is just buy the shoes and bring them to a shoemaker and cut the heel down, this way you get what you want and you dont have to deal arguing with her. She wont even notice on her day that you did this and shouldn't matter anyways.

Re: Am I being difficult?
no way no way NO WAY are you being difficult!! I've had this happen to me before where people have gotten angry at me for physical conditions that I can't change and it always baffled me that they got angry...but I've always felt 'wait, am I being unreasonable?'
If you can't change your condition then the answer is NO NO NO!!! What are you supposed to do, magically get a new leg?? These ladies are being ridiculous...I hope they wise up and apologize to you!!! Sorry you're going through this

Re: Am I being difficult?
just tell her you'll get a different shoe. no one is gonna care if the BM's have matching shoes. As a bride, your shoe should be the least of her problems and she should get over it

I don't think so it's not like you just don't want to wear this shoe for medical reasons you can't the other BM's should be a little more understanding. Why can't you wear a different shoe that is similar to the other girls?

Re: Am I being difficult?
I agree with everyone else, they are being really insensitive! I would look around and try to find the same designer/color in a different style with a lower heel and then tell them it is really not going to make much of a difference if you wear a different shoe as long as it is the same color.

Re: Am I being difficult?
Ummmm , question......have you spoken with the BRIDE about this? It sounds like you spoke with the MOH. Maybe if you explain your situation to the bride herself, she would understand better. You never know, the MOH may just be saying 'well Christine doesn't want those shoes......' It's entirely possible that with everything going on, the bride forgot that you mentioned this issue with her beforehand.

Re: Am I being difficult?
I don't think you're being difficult. But is there any way you can get the shoe modified at a shoe repair shop to fit you? And maybe then just wear it for pics and ceremony and change into flats at the reception?
