am i nuts to feel this way? **UPDATE**

Original post by rfilipofornow

my FH has a conference in Colorado next month. No biggie, he goes to one almost every summer. however, he just told me that he and another girl in his lab (who he happens to be very fond of) have decided to drive there (13 hrs each way) and share a hotel room. now, i'm not a jealous type or anything, but i'm totally NOT cool with this and he's kinda pissed at me because he doesn't see what the problem is. am i wrong to be upset about this??

i don't want to tell him he CAN'T do it, because i'm not like that, but seriously?? how can he not see that this is completely inappropriate for a guy who's about to get married? or am i seriously overreacting? i guess that's possible too. . .

**UPDATE** - thanks ladies for all of your comments and support. It was really nice knowing I wasn't overreacting!! we had numerous looooooong discussions about it and they changed their hotel reservation and got separate rooms. he gave me a very sincere apology and said he'd do whatever he could to get a seperate hotel room. he said he just wasn't thinking when he booked the first one, he was just trying to be helpful to the dept, but has to realize that this stuff affects me too and it can't always be about what's best for the dept. so hooray! thanks again everyone!!

That is just a little weird. I can kind of see driving together (though I would still not like it), but sharing a hotel room?????!!!!?? I think you have a right to be upset and should let him know, calmly, that it really bothers you. Ask him to imagine the shoe on the other foot.....
He should really respect your feelings.

Girlfriend, you have EVERY right to be pissed...***???

I'm sorry, but I would not go for that.

If you want to hear my opinion, these shenanigans would be a deal breaker for me. As in, you-go-on-this-trip-you-lose-your-woman kinda thing. And there is not a chance in post-apocalyptic h e l l that I would say 'the drive is one thing...' The drive is NOT one thing! The drive is the whole thing. Who even needs a hotel room??? How many times did FH and I shack up in the back seat when we were frisky college kids????? Sheeeeezz...

Not to hate on my sisters, but the girl is a T R A M P. Any woman who would do that with an engaged man has NO CLASS. And this has nothing to do with old-fashioned behavior or being on a leash. STAND YOUR GROUND mami!!! You've got an entire Long Island Female Wedding force behind you!!!!!!

the sharing of a room would bother me. My FH used to do business and go with girls he knew really well to Denver all the time, but I would never like the idea of him sharing a room with them.

I brought this up to my FH, and I expected a joke from him as usual, but I made him tell me exactly how he truly felt. He said he wouldn't room with her- he knows it isn't right and besides, he wouldn't want to room with anyone anyway! And this is a guy that's all about the trust and doesn't believe in jealousy...so your FH HAS to listen!

to you!!!
