Help!!! Ever since FH and I moved our wedding date closer, my mother has nothing but negative things to say about everything!!! She makes it a point to make negative comments about everything from the hall we chose, to booking vendors, even to shopping with me for my gown!!!! I have been asking her for the past three weeks to come with me to find a dress and her latest excuse is that she can't because she has to get her nails done!!!! Hello- where are your priorities?? I thought she would be so excited to go dress shopping with me, but everytime I make an appt. for her to come with me, she rolls her eyes and says 'You have a year to do this!' Well excuse me for being excited about my freakin WEDDING!!!!! What do you girls think??? Am I wrong for wanting to get everything done? I've decided to go dress shopping with my FMIL At least she is excited!!!

i don't know what to tell you! i know that my mother gets negative about things when she feels as if her opinions aren't being listened to.....perhaps that could be the case....

Go with your FMIL, My FMIL was excited to then my mom saw us bonding and she felt left out so she atrted participating but my mom was the same way I think it justdepends on the person I get excited over everyhting heck I wore my tiara the whole way HOME lol KEEP doing what your doing and ENJOY IT

I hear ya girl. My mom did the same thing to me. I went with my MOH and we found the dress for me. I haven't even told her that I found it. She will see it when she acts like she is interested. Or she will see it on THE DAY.

I totally understand what you are feeling. FMIL kept thinking i was rushing things by looking at gowns, halls, etc and I only have a 10 month engagement! Can't people understand we are excited? Don't let her get you down, have fun!
WOW that really stinks maybe you can get her more excited by showing her pics that you have downloaded, and explain that you only have a month because it takes 10 months for it to come it.... Or ask her how she went about getting her gown, if she never had to do this she may be feeling green with envy??? if thats the case tell her while your out she can look for her dress and maybe get it in off white too? good luck
