Annoying pet peeves

Original post by diamondgrlie

It's Friday and my boss lied and said he was going away with his family but his son called to ask where his Daddy was. Hmmmm I wonder if he meant to say golfing or something...

I am now in a bad mood and want to start a pet peeves thread.

About ANYTHING!

Those that get on the escalator and then walk up or down inside of just standing there.

Oh no... I never thought it would annoy anyone. I do it all the time for added exercise. It's not as if you can find a staircase in department stores. Please explain why this is bothersome.

I'm not Lisa but this bothers me too, mostly when I'm commuting - there's a stair alternative. If I want to walk I take the stairs. If I want to ride, I take the escalator.

There are people that push past you on the escalator because they are in a hurry or what ever (not saying you do this) and it's annoying when there is stairs right there.

People who peer INTO the crack in the stall door to see if anyone is in there instead of looking down to see feet.....they stare right at you as you are on the bowl!

For me, it's not the people who walk on the escalator, but there's a system to it. If you want to stand, step to the right on the escalator. If you want to walk up the escalator, you should be on the left. My problem is the people who just stand on the left. They've even posted signs about this is some ofthe subways to let people know.

I've actually taken to walking in the street to avoid this. I just have to watch out for those pesky buses.

I am not sure if this was covered but...
you are on the highway-
about to change lanes-

you put your blinker on-

the idiot who was 50 feet behind you speeds up so they can get in front of you -

You are like - ok whatever- you wait, change lanes and then they drive REAL slow!!!!!!

THey were certainly in a rush to get ahead of you.

Or- people who drive 40mph in the left hand lane on the highway.

YES I hate people who don't say thank you when you hold doors. I always yell 'YOUR WELCOME' to them really loud.
I was in the city the other day, and this french woman was standing in front of the soda fridge.... so she sees me looking in and moves out of the way. Then AS i open the door, she reaches in ahead of me and grabs a soda and walks away!!!!! Am i your freakin door holder???? i was standing there stunned, then i yelled out to her 'MERCI!!!!!' (forgot how to say you're welcome in french) I understand she may not know english (BS) but she couldn't say 'merci'????

I also hate when people stand behind you on line SO CLOSE that they are touching. then you move up to get your personal space, and THEY move up!!! Drives me nuts!

and i had one of those old lady cutters that kept standing next to me on line. I had to keep shifting to make sure she didn;t cut. Those old ladies are sneaky!!!

and i hate people in crowded places just stop in front of you. step out of the way, THEN stop.
people should be made to wear blinkers and brake lights too!
and people who walk on the left side of anything (subway stairs, mall, sidewalk, hallway) RIGHT SIDE PEOPLE!!!!! and on blind turn hallways i usually bump into some idiot walking ont he left side, and they get annoyed at ME!

ohhh i have another.... (man i have a lot )

people who walk when there is a 'don't walk' signal up, especially in the city. Traffic is bad enough without you walking your stupid a$$ in front of oncoming speeding cars!!! DH usually aims for them and scares the crap out of them ! hehe

The BEST part is when they cross on a 'dont walk', and do it slowly! GET OUT OF THE WAYY!!!!!!!!!!

When I walk up the escalator, it's because I'm in a hurry. Why go up the stairs when you can go up the escalator 3x faster!?

I got another one (I have many, too.. lol):

When you're in a mall, and there are 18 doors to choose from, and everyone wants squeeze in the one I've opened for myself (whether going in or out). Um, aren't there 17 others! Get your own door!!!!

Slow drivers. You see me behind you move to the right lane where you belong!
Rubberneckers! If you are so concerned with what’s going on that you need to step on your brakes and look there is a problem.
People who cut you off when there is no one behind you. Could they not wait the 12 seconds until you passed?

As you can see I have severe Road Rage!

Def. that 'friend' who always points out how they are 'better' than you. I have begun to feel bad for people like that I cant imagine how they must feel about themselves.

People who chew or talk w/ their mouths open.

And people who put their hands in my food if I haven’t offered.

I actually had a guy I didn’t even know comment on how good a fry looked and went right ahead and grabbed it!

Re: Annoying pet peeves

I KNOW this is petty, but it just happened again this morning.

When I'm on line in a supermarket and have quite a few things, I always let the next person in front of me if they only have a couple of things. Then I realize there is an express lane for that purpose. They kind of stare at you expecting it. I only have myself to get annoyed at, but I let it happen all the time.
