ANOTHER example of insensitivity

OK so i hate to rehash something, but last week we were 'discussing' relitious traditions that were being called 'weird' or 'stupid'

so FH just called me and he was telling me that he told one of his co-workers that we both got 2 wedding bands
reason being, Jewish people are supposed to get married in PLAIN bands; no diamonds or 'holes' in the gold

so we got matching ones and i got a diamond band and FH got a 2 tone one he really liked
so, without hesitation, his 'co-worker' turns around and says 'That's Stupid!'



I am so annoyed and even more annoyed FH told me!! I just dont 'get' people sometimes

People are just ignorant and most of the times dont think about what they say before they say it. Dont let that idiot get to you. He's the stupid one.

Tradition aside, who wouldnt WANT two rings? Its a beautiful tradition to have a simple band - one with no 'breaks' - but also, a lot of people get an 'every day' band anyway b/c they might be afraid to wear their diamonds to work, etc. People can be so close minded.

I think this is the worst part about planning a wedding. Everything you chose or want peeople feel the need to tell you it's wrong or stupid. Who the H-E Double hockey sticks are they to say what's wrong or 'stupid' ??

People can be really 'stupid'. Just because it's something that person wouldn't do did not give them the right to call what you did stupid. Some people suuck!

I don't get people. Why do they feel (especially when it comes to weddings) that they have the right to just say whatever they feel in whatever tone they wish?

and Heather is right -- who doesn't want two rings? I am getting two and FH informed me the other day he wants two as well.

but seriously it annoys me that people dont have any consideration for what others think and feel. it is your religious tradition. It is NOT stupid or weird or anything else. It means something to you and screw them! haha but i get what you are saying. i hate when people have to comment about something being stupid just because they wouldnt like it or want it.

You said exactly!!!! I just don't GET people sometimes, because they JUST DON:T GET IT.... AND I'm not sure why we are always still shocked by how stupid people are, but yet we are (totally including myself in that).

When will people learn? NEVER.

But Laura, your wedding is in 5 days and it's supposed to be 44 degrees on Saturday. Wahhoo.

FH told me that when he said that, he said to him, 'You know XXXXX, you're really stupid' and then walked away LOL
