some people asked for NYC...and there is always LI.
so the question is...WHERE do we want to plan this shindig.
Manhattan may be expensive, and hard for those that want to drive. we could also do downtown Brooklyn...or Astoria in Queens.
if you guys want to do LI, I can try to talk to a few halls/restaurants and see what they can do for us Brides who shelled out big bucks to these places this year
finally, as a ball park...HOW MUCH?? is too much.
hmmm, maybe I should make another poll about costs.

Re: Another POLL for the GREATEST GTG of ALL TIME
being I live on Long Island, LI is best for me. If it is just gals, I think we could get an amazing rate at Irish Coffee Pub. If we include DH's then we'll need a bigger place. Do you think we could ask Ron and Liz's help being they probably have more connections then we do.

I am sure we'd all love to have it as close to our homes as possible, but that's not going to happen since everyone is scattered about.
Ron knows what we are doing, and after he catches up with his work, I'll be talking to him.
thanks for the suggestion...where is the Irish Coffee Pub?

I'm from Brooklyn, and I highly recm'd having the event on the Nassau/Suffolk border to accomodate for all.
I recm'd no more than $50 per person.

Personally, I like Manhattan. I don't get out there much, and its much easier for me to get there via subway, than to drive to LI where I'm not all that familiar (ILs live in Bayside, Queens).
Astoria works as well, especially since there are some nice Italian restaurants that may do a fixed price menu for us.

I agree. The city is a very long train ride for me. I also hate driving in the city.

I agree as well. I am up for anything. If we want to do Queens, I had John's suprise party at Villa Russo in Ozone Park. It was unlimited beer/liquor with 3 dinner choices and dessert and I think I paid under $30 pp.
or we could also try Giardino's in Douglaston. I love that place and they aren't too expensive either. Doulgaston is close to the nassau border.

Nassau/Suffolk border would accomodate almost everyone being there are girls from NYC and Riverhead. Also, maybe Queens/Suffolk border, but they will tend to be more $$$. Places I think would fit our budgets: Chateau Le Mer-Lindenhurst Irish Coffee Pub-Islip Rivera-Massapequa Huntington Town House-Huntington Brentwood County Club-Brentwood Huntington Marriot-Huntington/Farmingdale
Also, keep in mind we are in Holiday Party Season so most places do offer discounts!!

I am thinking that we could do Queens but keep a 'city' feel, by keeping it in a neighborhood like Astoria...Douglaston is a little more 'burby...ya know...for that, we might as well make the most convenient and stick to LI

I'm a Manhattan vote but realize that to have it there would cost more and be inconvenient for a lot of the girls.
Can I change my vote to not too Nassau/not too Suffolk?

Re: Another POLL for the GREATEST GTG of ALL TIME
LI is the best for me. I'm willing to carpool if it's somewhere on the Nassau/Queens border, but coming from eastern Suffolk, Manhattan and Queens are just a little too far for me.

Keep in mind though that some of us don't have cars and would be taking the train out and then need to take the train home.

I would like it to be in Nassau/Suffolk as if we are looking to stay under $50 pp it might be hard in NYC
